Product Information:
Counterfeiting is definitely not an instance where imitation is the highest form of flattery. Protecting trademarks is not just about protecting business interests; it's about protecting consumers and the health and safety of the people who make clothing around the world.

The iconic and trademarked Levis red tab (including the red color) and the familiar arcuate or batwing stitching that grace just about every pair of Levi's jeans have come to stand for more than just well-made product. Now, Levi's is often faced with counterfeiters who want to make money by taking advantage of the goodwill, reputation and quality associated the Levi's brand.

There are so many variations and deceptive production tactics used by counterfeiters to specifically deceive you, the best advice is to buy authentic, quality Levi's from authorized retailers.

Counterfeit products are often listed on eBay and sold to unsuspecting buyers as "genuine" or "100% authentic" items at prices close to retail.

Find the red Levi's tab on the back right pocket of your jeans. This red tab is present on almost all pairs of Levi’s and has become a well-recognized icon all around the world. It is a good starting point for identifying Levi’s Jeans as authentic or fake.
All genuine pairs have the tab, however, on a few styles of jeans, the tab may be a different color, like green, or yellow, or white.

Ensure that the stitching around the tab is clean and consistent. If it is messy, or looks tampered with, these may be a fake pair. A lot of fake manufacturers un-stitch the denim of regular jeans and sew the tab in to make them look like genuine Levi’s

Look out for ‘The Big E’ on the tab. A capital E in Levi’s is only present in pre-1971 pairs of jeans. If a pair is claimed to be from after 1971 and has the ‘Big E’, that indicates that it is a fake pair.[1]
1 in every 100 pairs will only have a ‘registered mark’ instead of Levi’s sign. This is because they have to change the ribbon on the machine and run through a label without Levi’s stitching on it

Feel the patch’s texture and softness. The material of an authentic patch will have a little bit of texture and feel soft and worn. The material shouldn’t feel too smooth, or too hard. A lot of fake manufacturers use cheap leather or a substitute. If the patch feels like it is covered, or has a plastic feel to it, this may indicate that your jeans are counterfeit.

Check the overall build quality of the jeans. Levi’s has a very high standard for quality control. If there are any faults in the stitching, or on any of the metal work, chances are they are fake, or they may need to be returned to Levi’s for inspection.

The zipper is from Levi's 505 (not from 501) and is included in the video to compare the zipper component of Levi's jeans as well. Peace :)

Most important thing to check is, engravings (number) on back of main button must be matched with number mentioned on the label attached to the waist !.

Lower the price of the original but retain the quality, no fake will survive.

Cheers guys, thanks for popping up on my feed and going through this. Only thing as said below was the matching of the number on the back of the top botton and on the last label.

When I was younger like back in the 70s and 80s the jeans came with a little orange tag instead of a red tag . I still have those jeans can't fit into him but I still have, they're probably older than the person who made this video. 👍🇺🇸☮️

The last pair of Levis I bought lasted 18 months with light use before they disintegrated. I bought them in a Levis store, and they appear to be authentic.

I had Levis when I was a kid, and they could easily stand up to skateboarding, climbing trees, and football.

The quality of the fakes might be better than the authentic ones these days.

Branded Jean's are beyond the reach of a middle class person.

Sometimes fake Jean's are better than the so called branded Jean's.

Voice of People... it would be nice to hear a voice instead of reading your messages and at the same time look for the differences your trying to point out.

So i was buying levis all my live, and mostly from local levis store, but recently bought a pair of fake levis 511 not realizing they were fake, bought it off ebay from a seller, after watching your video realized they were fake, others a genuine got like 12 pairs of levis 501/505/514 jeans with more than half being 501s. btw the older pairs from early 2000s had no such labels current ones got. But rivets and buttons are all stamped at the back with print saying levis.... I have pair from when I was a kid in 90s and they have no labels of any sorts, other than one giving you size and washing instructions, but they're genuine Levis.

There are black market Levi's (and other designer jeans) that are 100% identical to the real thing because they're not copies. The factories just produce more than ordered and sell them through unauthorized channels.

I have been buying direct from Levi Straus for several years now. Catch them on sale from the Company now and then.

From Cuba.
The internal stitching finished of the begining and the end of the waist band is the best way to identify if is original or not.

I take it the zipper thing had more to do with the Levi brand not the 501 style of pants for obvious reasons. I used to buy nothing but 501s they used to be a little more expensive than other jeans but still reasonable priced around $20 dollars on sale at the time, but then they somehow became trendy with the yuppies and the prices skyrocketing $ 70 or more now ridiculous.

A brand new pair of jeans cost 50 bucks here i was able to buy for 9 bucks in a thrift store, i was sure that it is legit and this video solidified my claims. Thanks!

Top video - thank you. I have a lot of Levi’s ... going by your checklist - only 3 are genuine. The rest are fakes ... and the genuine ones have lasted longer and are in better shape!!
