Thank you so much for explaining where your voice sits and for demonstrating belting voice vs. chest voice. That's always confusing for me because they sound similar. I know that my voice just sits lower than yours so I can't get the same sound out of it ( plus I am new and trying to figure out how to best use it). Still, even knowing that, when I hear someone else I often think I should be able to duplicate that sound. I will keep focusing on how to get the best sound out of what I have. I'm sure I'll get there eventually!

Your videos always protect the vocal chords! In the long run, that is what really matters! Love Freya!

• Think very little air
The higher the pitch, the less air but the more tension in your support

So the belt, by your definition, is just before the mixed voice? Interesting. So would you engage the mask at that point or not?

Thanks it is what I learnt to do, but I was not sure it was correct. I cannot push my chest voice over c5, and even there to have it I have to yell zmand it is not nice. Instead if I get a bit lighter it is much better. The problem ist that sometimes in certain songs when there are certain words with hard consonants the sound is less powerful. Any tips?

Wouldn't the vocal chords get shorter rather than longer the higher the pitch, like on a piano? If not, could you explain how and why it works opposite?

That belting you are defining is an heavy mix?

Hey Freya, I was wondering what you would suggest to fix a breathy or airy sounding voice. Thanks for all the great videos btw!

You can have mid range belts, and low belts. I just want to learn how to have strong belts, so videos like this, which state that belting is hitting high notes, and it's some kind of special register don't help me deal with my needs at all. I sang hello, and I feel my intended belts came off too soft( my teacher thought I was going for falsetto). I'd love your help, but apparently you're not going to understand my question because you define belts differently. Sigh, I don't know where to go.
