My hat's off to Steve for surviving that kind of pressure

We had this same thing happen! Our accountant for our business, was also writing checks and using a signature stamp for my husband, and the accountant and his wife, were taking money from our business, and we figured this out in two months, because we were making deposits, but the accountant kept avoiding us when we questioned what was going on, and we had to have a police officer to go to their office ( which they will do, it's called to "keep the peace." When we showed up, it freaked them out somewhat, and we were able to get all of our files, checks, signature stamp, they had been writing themselves checks and cashing them, because they had my husbands signature stamp! The reason we went unannounced with a police officer, was because they wouldn't give us our files and all, which we had tried to do, and they were trying to hide what they had been doing, but we got everything back. They hadn't done our taxes for that one quarter that they had our fines, and we contacted the IRS, and after going there and meeting someone who was very helpful and sweet to help us! We did an "offer and compromise" and it took us a year to resolve things, to catch up on the taxes the account was suppose to be paying from our business account. We actually could have charged the accountant with forgery and embezzlement, but we were just trying to work as much as possible and contact all our business associations, several of whom, we also owed money to, because again, the accountant hadn't been paying people! It was horrible, decided to just put all of our energy into going forward and although we did get everything paid, it was really hard on our children and us, but live and learn, don't ever trust someone with a signature stamp, especially!

That's sad that someone can steal from the innocent, died in their sibs, but God favored Steve Harvey and he kept majority of his assets. Thanks for sharing Steve.

This is why I learned to do all my own taxes and stuff! See not only was Steve out of the 22 million to the IRS. He was also out of the money those other people stole from him when they cashed his checks for his taxes but kept the money. I dont care how much money you make you got to learn how to manage it else someone will steal it right from under your noise.

This is why I pay attention to what Steve Harvey has to say about becoming successful in life. He keeps it real and very relatable with his openness about his setbacks and not always getting it right but using the low moments to propel himself to even higher levels. I come away getting a realistic picture of what I will be up against but still inspired to pick myself up and not just keep moving but to aim even higher. I truly feel blessed to know of and about him.

Moral of the story - it's not about the fall, it's about the rise. Great Job Steve!

What I love about Steve, is as real as gets, He has been through the hard times, and made it a few times. And has such a positive outlook and great wisdom because he has lived it!

Now people understand why he had/ has that many jobs.
Sometimes people only see the hustle; they don't understand the motive.

The first house we bought the lawyer cashed the check to pay off the sellers mortgage but he kept the money and did not pay off the mortgage. A couple months later the doorbell rung for eviction notice. She asked me a lot of questions, I answered them. I didn’t hear back until months later it was resolved. I wasn’t the only mortgage they didn’t pay so there were a lot of resources available to track the two partners down. It was all in the papers.

I have so much respect for this man.
Anyone else would have given up against such insurmountable odds. What I don't understand is how, given the fraud of his accountant it was not the accountants estate held liable, because it was obvious Steve did what was required. Government should sue the accountant estate and give that money back to Steve.
