Going from MII:TW, what you want to do is post archers on the flanks in skirmish mode if you can't protect them with spears, if skirmish is a thing in manor lords. I don't know if Manor Lords has cavalry or not, but all those poor archers would be decimated by a single cavalry formation.

Did you know It's possible to recruit up to 300 Retinues? Just spam build as many towers (each tower adds 12 slots for retinues) and you'll have the capability to recruit 300+ retinues in one unit.

Quick suggestion if you’re in contact with the Dev.

Waves!!!!
Have it be like call of duty zombies with incremental waves of more infantry and higher difficulty. Maybe to a point where the AI send in all retinue armies in the end.
Since you can repopulate armies you lost with your citizens, it would be cool to see how far people can get just sending all their population out to war😅. I know the competition would be crazy amongst players for high-scores and this might let us enjoy the fighting more. I already think its the best part of the game. The cinematic’s are great.
