The WNBA has issues allowing bad behavior. How do you just trade one of the best players in the league. They have also allowed unprofessional conduct at press conferences, cheap shot fouls being called basketball plays. Hell Chennedy Carter was not even suspended or ejected for hitting Clark on a dead ball. The Minnesota lynx coach and her comments about the fever fans. Time to clean it up. There will be some major house cleaning this offseason. 😊

Big ups to Lin Dunn and Christie
Sides for being so supportive of Katie Lou and her 1 year old (future WNBA player) daughter. It’s even worse when you consider Hamby is/was an all star player and did not show a noticeable decrease in performance on the court during this ordeal. It’s really gross and while some claims may be exaggerated, it doesn’t matter. It’s obvious some real wrongdoing has been done here and Hamby might end up being the highest paid WNBA player because of it. Good for her, we need to support WNBA mothers, something that is unique to women’s sports.

I hope the Fever dominate and the Aces crash and burn to end this season. They probably won’t but it would make a great story.

EEOC(Government) has said there is enough of a case to precede to jury trial. WNBA has to settle because they have already admitted guilt with suspension and draft picks. Apparently Skylar Diggins Smith is also in the lawsuit pipeline with similar charges. The CBA on pregnancies align with the EEOC. They definitely violated the EEOC. Becky Hammond words to Hamby about her knowingly signed a contract with the knowledge she was pregnant is a violation. You can think that but you cannot say that. She also said other things that a organization cannot say. I do expect the Aces to settle for around 20M. If they go to court it could be a lot more. Then the jury gets to look at all of Hammonds, Aces and WNBA text and email.

The WNBA really needs to get a hold on this. This is a real opportunity. They should have THE best maternity policies in the world. They have a real opportunity to do 2 things 1) normalize women having children while being athletes, and 2) put together the world's best pregnancy recovery processes for woman athletes. That is a massive opportunity. The league should allow teams to sign an extra player when one goes out on maternity leave. They really have a chance to make really good policies.

Happy that this happened close enough to the explosive media coverage of the WNBA that Hamby capitalizes on that rather than two years ago when nobody cared about the WNBA. This needs to be shown and get cleaned up. Skylar Diggins-Smith got got the same treatment from Taurasi and the Sun.
The WNBA clearly has operated in a VERY unprofessional way for years because they got away with it. Now all the new attention is gonna force them to clean this shit up and the old guard is gonna get embarrassed and humiliated from their behavior and they deserve it.
This is like mean girls but not funny at all. We hear all this talk about “toxic masculinity” and that’s real and should be talked about - then we heard women are perfect and superior to men - thank you to the women of the WNBA for putting that narrative to rest - FOREVER!!
Men AND women can be toxic because both are people. One is not more capable of being toxic than the other.

I grew up with 2 older brothers and based on personal experience... guys have absolutely no idea how females be petty, jealous, and vengeful totally run by emotions... especially when they are in the position of power. And it gets worse, especially when they see you as a threat to them (it doesnt matter if its actually true or not).

It's actually funny seeing the guys in the NBA trying to make sense of all the pettiness that the WNBA is showing.


With that being said, I'm glad all these crap is finally coming out. With all the eyes now on the league due to Caitlin, they can't hide the stink of the garbage that has been building all these years. Hopefully this forces them to clean house.
