This is the only video that talks about having only one effect to use on all 12x channels.

U should've done the full review on this one n the l20. Real nice informative vid. Ty

Dude, honestly I wanted to create a channel to inform very specific stuff about gear, but since I started watching your videos I think there is no need for creating one. Good job. So useful info! i have some performances in my channel you might like. Cheers!

Once setup and working it is a fantastic home studio tool for recording. I like the dual option to record live jams direct to the SDCard or record into a DAW. A pain to setup but once it is working a great tool.

Just a few notes about Scenes on the L-8. Not sure if these apply to the L-12.
Projects only save one set of mixer settings; Master, A, B, C, etc.
Scenes are saved with the console, but are *not* saved with the Project to the SD Card.
If you load a Project, and then load a Scene, the mixer settings from the Scene will supercede the mixer settings from the Project.
If you turn off the console via the switch on the back, the mixer settings loaded by the Scene will overwrite the Project settings. If however you eject the SD Card before turning off the console, the Project settings will be preserved.
Scenes cannot be deleted without resetting the console to factory settings.
(LiveTrak L-8 firmware 1.12)

Matthew Stratton, I love the way you Demo. You are my greatest influence in purchasing this machine. Which I will do ASAP. Thank you so much:)

Hey thanks Matthew good job this was very helpful to an old dog like me at 72. Just don't have the patience or focus I once had. Your 5th reason was the one I was hoping for because it is nice to have a visual of some sort to keep things in perspective especially when editing tracks. I guess thats why they make DAW'S right? DUH very helpful video TY

Love your vids man! I was tossed up between purchasing the Tascam Model 16 or the Livetrack L-12... but Zoom just dropped the L-8 for $399. Same features, plus some new ones, as the L-12, less inputs of course, and battery powered option for mobility. It’s geared towards podcasters and mobile musicians.

I initially wanted the Tascam Model 16 for its analog circuitry, more inputs and feature flexibility. Even though it jumps $200 in cost compared to the L-12, I think it’s totally worth it. However, with Zoom now having a lineup from the L-8 through L-20, I’m hoping Tascam drops one more counsel with 8 inputs since they have a lineup from 16 to 24. I would pay $399 - $499 for that.

For the time being I’m going with the L-8 and love the fact that manufactures are producing mixing boards with high quality recording features integrated in one. I think if you are DAWless or use a computer setup, you can’t go wrong with these tools.

I have the impression you can use it 48 khz 24 bit also when set up as audio card for a pc/daw (not only 44.1 as you said). Cheers

I wish you could make a comparison video between this and the Tascam Model 12. You're really good at explaining things and would love to get your thoughts more than anyone's. I have the Model 12 myself but am so lost on the specialized functions of the 7/8 and 9/10 tracks and I'm sure you'd be the guy to sort this out for those of us lacking your "Brainiac from Smartron 6" powers! ;-) Cheers!

Hi Matthew. Excellent video. Can you advise me how to engage the phantom power?

Features are great but the master point is : the quality of preamps and converters. That's why lot of experienced producers never check that kind of products (we pay the features). it's better to sacrifice features to invest money in professional preamps and converters : audio interface without all that features . Thank you for the vidéo !

That’s a really neat board with some cool features. I bet that helped you quite a bit from what you have. Worth getting excited over mate! Sweet stuff! I like it!👍🏻😊
