In this Part 2 we will be covering Bag B and Step 6-11. These steps include installing the electronics, different mounts and attaching the gear box (from step 2-5) to the main Tamiya Grasshopper II Chassis. As my original Tamiya Super Hornet was in great need of new "magical axle springs", this proved a nice opportunity to examine some of the differences and similarities between the two models.

You can find the different steps of the video here:

Step 6-11 Preparations 0:29
Step 6 Servo Saver and Neutral Setting 2:52
Step 7 Steering Rods and Servo Mount 3:55
Step 8-9 Attaching Electronics and Mounts / Securing Cables 5:39
Step 10-11 Rear Axle Stays / Attaching Gear Box 7:25
Step 1-11 Final Result 11:56

You will find the comparison of the Grasshopper II and the Super Hornet in step 10-11.

Apart from the parts already used in step 1-5, fresh parts from the following items are required to complete step 6-11:
- Parts Bag B (item 10005276)
- P-Parts (item 10115065)
- C-Parts (item 10555115)
- Chassis (10335092)
- Optional electronics

The Tamiya Grasshopper II 2017 (model 58643), released the 22nd of March 2017, is a re-release of the original Tamiya Grasshopper II (model 58074), released the 9th of August 1988.

Been waiting for this and well worth it. Those little springs are a pain as they never last.

Awesome build! I was wondering why you chose an old ESC and 27MHz but now I know you want to go completely 90s! Great! 👌

Nice! makes me wonder just how many of those servo savers tamiya must have made over all the years!

Struggling with the battery door mounts. Are they supposed to move in and out after the impossible screws are "in" ?

You're getting there Bud!! I'm guessing that the Super Hornet is just a G2, with bigger motor and oil filled shocks....
I found the FIRST part of my "Super Hopper" I'm going to keep it a 380 - but now a Traxxas Velineon 380 brushless motor/ESC!!! 😲😲😲
I figure that should move it around faster than a 540 silver can!

Lookin forward to your finale on this, especially the body!

What other servo motor, transmitter, receiver would you recommend for this.
