Indians are using Zero for like thousands of years. I remember reading about a archaeological discovery where they found a "2000 years old" book containing numerous mathematical formulas near Takshila (now in Pakistan) & yes there were zeroes in it, it was different from Aryabhatta's form of zero(0) it was like degree(°).

The Romans did all that and they couldn't even count to 0.

Indians themselves sometimes underestimate the discovery of “0”. Aryabhatta single handedly dropped an invaluable contribution and we seem to ignore it.

Kali yuga calendar is 5000+ years old. When Alexander reached Bharat he found the people had a continuous history of kings dating back 6400 years before him.

Forgot to.mention more than 10000 yr old Hindu calender which mentioned earlier dates, celestial events like Eclipses, comets, time directions, distance between sun, earth, moon and other planetary bodies...Way before all the civilisations mentioned were even born...And we're probably scavengers ... And off course uses Zero in other form...Before being called that formally.

You didn't mention Hindu calendar. It's quite accurate scientifically

As a child in the UK, I was always taught that it was the Hindu/Arabic system, obviously with the emphasis on Hindu.

Well, in ancient India. They used planetary positions way before it was introduced in china. Chinese scholars came to India to learn these planetary systems. Even today Astrology uses it and since now we have advanced systems to check the planetary positions in real time using telescopes and space agencies data, we can confirm the accuracy of these positions. It is a shame that India failed to express their culture in the entire world. They always think that China, greece, arabs, were advanced in ancient times but people forget that India that is Bharat was the one that gave these civilizations the base knowledge that they used to achieve those milestones while India was getting captured by Invaders.

Just a correction: the Islamic calendar isn't using the birth of Muhammad as the start of counting. It's about his Exodus out of his birthplace Mecca to Medina, which is called Hijra. The lunar calendar (354, 37 days/ year) is therefore called Hijrî calendar. Currently it is in the year 1445.

One thing I noticed from his most of videos he never talk about india or india cultures. Just look he is talking about zero but not mentioning inventor of zero. In india we also use shaka era calendar and Vikram samant calendar based on lunar and started Kanishka ascended the throne in 78 AD/ CE, and this date was used as the beginning of the Saka calendar era. And other The Vikram Samvat has two systems. It began in 56 BCE in the southern Hindu calendar system (amaanta) and 57–56 BCE in the northern system (purnimaanta). The Shukla Paksha, when most festivals occur, coincides in both systems.

Another reason why there is no year zero is because people don't start counting from zero. We start counting from one.

Forgot about Indian calendar. The concept of Zero was invented by Aryabatta of India.

0 is a 'point in time'. Not a 'span of time'. Just like there is no '0th hour' but there is '12:00 hours' that can be called as the 0th point in the day.
