When zero was first discovered

The invention of zero, or rather the realisation that it was a number just like any other, was one of the greatest conceptual leaps in the history of mathematics, one that would spur the rise of modern science.

Today it is announced that the written record of zero in the region which discovered this influential digit dates back four centuries further than most scholars had thought, thanks to carbon dating of an ancient manuscript written on 70 leaves of birch bark, held at the University of Oxford’s Bodleian Libraries.

To all Pakistani people saying the Bakshali Manuscript is not Indian history:
The Manuscript is written in the Sarada Script in Sanskrit language. It was written during the Gupta Empire in the 3rd-4th Century. The Gupta Empire was a Hindu Empire.

Since you all claim you are Arabs and Turks, Mohammed Bin Qasim (your ancestor) had not arrived to India.

Indian civilization extends back 5, 000 years. Pakistan wasn’t even a word until the early 20th Century. Islam didn’t even exist in Arabia back then.

Stop stealing india’s History and culture. Hindu texts are written in Sanskrit. So is the Bakshali Manuscript.

Arya Bhatt was the guy 500 years before Copernicus who proposed the fact that Earth and other planets revolve around sun and causes solar and Lunar Eclipse but this data couldn't be communicated to western philosophers.

Thanks to Indian Hindus who discovered zero, applied it to mathematics and invented algebra

Zero was discovered by aryabhatta he was one of the first mathematician who related astronomy science and maths together
He knew about
1. He expressed the distance between moon and earth which is similar to the distance as we know today
2.Ancient Greek believed that earth is centre and sun and all heavenly bodies revolute to the earth
But he knew that sun was centre and all planets revolute to sun

3. He knew about solar and lunar eclipse

4. 1st 10 decimal places

5. Gave algorithms to solve square and cubic roots using decimal system

6.He treated geometric measurements
62832/20000=3.1416=pi

7..developed property similar to Pythagorean theoram

And all this was not possible at that time

Arya Bhatt was genius if he lived a life only of a mathematician then he would have discovered many things in life time but he had empire to guide .

And now zero is so important that in computers we have two zeros: zero and null

Bhramhagupta gave "0 or nothing" a shape and also used it in calculation like addition, subtraction & multiplication, and Aryabhatta gave it a place as a suffix like in 10 (something above 9) & that changed everything. It's Ancient name is "Shunya". Lord Shiva (*not Shankar) is often depicted as "Shunya", as his name also indicates "Shiv"(a Sanskrit word that means "the one which is not" or "nothingness") and hence also depicted as the only permanent thing in the Multiverse. No wonder why many Big Scientists and Astronomers studied Indian Ancient Scriptures.

Egyptians invented Pi aka the golden ratio long before any civilization, it is found all over the temples and Pyramids of Egypt. Scientist are still puzzled by the Pyramids and how calculations are precise to the centimeter, meaning the also founded the metric system.

It is not just zero the whole number system is from India.A culture with strong math foundation can only come up with Zero. The Babylonian zero was not a number hence they could not come up with decimal system, the revolutionary number system which includes zero came from India. If other culture had even a rudimentary form of Zero they would have come up with current number system which they did not ! So it is just not ZERO or any philosophy that created it.Zero could have been created only by the people who knew their numbers well! It was strong Mathematical foundation of Ancient Indian Civilization that came up with this system. So please get away with name Arabic from our numerals which is confusing people .The whole number system including zero is from India. We taught the world to COUNT and CALCULATE!.This is the universal language not English! which was archaeologically proved too with the discovery of precise 'ruler' and metric scales and weights discovered in Indus valley civilization.
I always wondered why we were never taught About 'Zero in chaturbhuj temple in Gwalior fort and Bakshali script which are the earliest description of number system and zero any where in the world .Answer is simple it doesn't go well with euro centric and 'Everything was Savage "before islam, Narration.Had it been from europe or muslim country, the world wuld be taught about it First!
