I'm planning on moving to Colorado Springs but I'm gonna rent for a while before possibly buying. I need to know what are some of the safer areas with little crime but also affordable. Can I rent a house or even duplex in such an area with a budget of around $2, 000 per month? Oh and no apartments, duplex I'd consider.

The calculator is ass. Wrong numbers for Cali, not even close. And very limited in what cities you can choose.

This comment is from Oct. 2020. Colorado Springs...Just say No! It's a Great place to "visit", beautiful (In the mountains). The city is dirty/trash allover the streets in Most places. Violent homeless people/squatters who sleep along the rivers, trees/bushes by nearby gas stations, Walmarts, and restaurants. Jobs, Good Luck, if you have a high paying professional career, you have the advantage financially, if you do labor or other lower paying work, you're chances of struggling financially are very high! Alot of the people in Colo Sprgs are rude, no manners for the more elderly or more mature groups of people. I've been VERY disappointed in Colorado Springs. I've lived in Fort Collins = Alot better than Colo. Sprgs, I've lived in Denver = Colorado Springs busier lil' twin, still slightly better on the "outskirts"/more options in every way. I've lived in Telluride = Hands down the best of all of them! More people appreciate the mountain scenery, everyone's having a Great time, the crime is nearly non existent, the feel of the area Represents Colorado more Respectfully & Peacefully. Visiting the cities/towns I listed in Colorado and "living" in them are like 2 different galaxies of difference. Enjoy the Peaceful things of Beautiful Colorado, Please keep Colorado clean and friendly! Enjoy ~

He didn’t say anything about renters insurance, car insurance and plates are expensive! Roads are full of pot holes = car repair! Cable and Internet 150$ per month! No vehicle inspection = people on bald tires and old brakes in winter! Hail damage yearly! Car break in’s and murders daily! Traffic and poor driving skills everywhere! It’s also a sanctuary city! I moved out of here! Oh! And the homeless community on the rise daily! Lots of stoned, drunk, meth’d drivers, people! First and last months rent Plus security deposit and SR22 report- to see if your worthy!
