Mormons at the door: "We've come to talk to you about Jesus"

Me: "Oh good. What would you like to know?"

When I invited them in I initiated the discussion, that sent them away.

A little over a year ago, almost to the day, God gave me the generous grace to bring two Mormon elders to the Holy Mass. they haven’t spoken to me since then, but we did exchange the occasional wave when we walked past one another.

2 young men from the LDS came to my door a few weeks ago, spoke with them for over an hour. Had very good philosophical and theological conversation. They were not prepared for what I knew and the questions I asked them. I invited them back the following Saturday morning, they never returned.

Mormons are some of the most amazing people you'll ever know. I've been friends with many -- most lapsed. But young boy Joseph Smith was very clearly a young con man.

I've invited them into my home for meals & talks. Their elders have me on the "do not call" list.

I talked to a couple Mormons this last summer. Nice kids(I say kids bc they were like 19 and 22 while I’m 35). Never really dealt with Mormons so I figured I’d at least hear them out. Talked for a little while, they gave me their book and said they’d drop by the next week. I did a little research to see why people say they are so different from Christians. Some real big differences. Then I decided to read a bit of the book. Only managed to read the first few pages before I got the wiggins something fierce. I won’t say it was God but something screamed at me that that book was wrong. When they visited again I told them it wasn’t for me. They tried to tell me that the Devil was the one giving me those feeling bc they were in the right. Told them they could believe that but I don’t and they left.

I mean, according to LDS theology God the Father is only the creator god of a particular universe, that because he became a god at a point on time just like they believe humans beings can be saved and become gods. Therefore I think they do not hold to an absolute timeless and causeless idea of God
Even if you dont agree with it you have to admit is one fascinating theology

Most likely they didn’t even understand your question otherwise they wouldn’t be Mormon.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Matthew 11:25

And whoso knocketh, to him will he open; and the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches—yea, they are they whom he despiseth; and save they shall cast these things away, and consider themselves fools before God, and come down in the depths of humility, he will not open unto them. 2 Nephi 9:42
There’s a reason Christ teaches us to be humble, to ask, knock and seek truth. It’s revealed unto babes because as we get older we become less able to rely ob faith and lean more to our understanding and our wisdom, not His.

I went to a LDS church and the people are pretty cool and nice. We disagree for sure, I know they are wrong, but I'd rather spend time with them than with an secular person.

If God does not have a physical body, then what happened to Jesus’s body after He resurrected and ascended into heaven? Where did His body go? Did He die a second time? What is the current location of the physical body that rose from the tomb? Where did that body go? What happened to it?

There are answers to this within LDS doctrine.

By the way, there are countless examples in scripture that indicate God looks like us and has a body. It’s literally everywhere. The God of the Bible is not the God of the creeds.

It is not because we, humans, do not understand something that it means it is false. We comprehend things with our human experience and human mind. God is so much more than that.

There is actually deeper doctrine on this subject in the LDS church which they didn't tell you (or didn't know) likely cause they didn't understand your logic.

Some things that St. Aquinas observed about God: He is “interiore intimo meo et superiore summo meo” (“closer to me than I am to myself, and higher than height itself”), He is “ipsum esse subsistens” (“the subsistent act of ‘to be, ’ itself”), and He is “totalitere alitere” (“totally other”). He is unlike anything and present in everything. He is unknowable, and intimately known to all. It is a mystery.

I am lds lets get that out of the way

God is all powerful and as the bible states is the same always and forever so why couldn't he manage this?
