Honestly efficiency is exactly what I would be looking for if I were to upgrade. Modern CPUs are super powerful nowadays. I want less heat not more power!

No ryzen 4070 comments, the earth is healing

I still see Zen 5 as being more of a win for productivity. To excel in gaming, they would’ve had to significantly improve single-core performance

This kind of motherboard manufacturer performance tweaks through more juice never went wrong. Any Intel official will certainly attest to that.

Cool, but with these prices I'd rather go with a 7800x3d bundle on microcenter. Hopefully with the new generation the price could drop a little.

Even without PBO nvidia 7800x3d still clears

Keep in mind other things exist after gaming, the productivity side of Ryzen 9000s is way better than 7000s, if you only care about gaming then wait for the 9000 X3D chips.

I'm here with my 3600 nodding in approval as though this is going to positively effect me.

We're almost at the peak. In PCs and also in smartphones. Don't expect more. We need an insane breakthrough in technology to change everything. Now, everything has become saturated. Powerful iGPUs and ARM chips are the future.

I think we have reached a stopping spot in our tech, give it 2 to 5 years we should see a bigger boom in speeds

So. I bought the 9900x with a b650 wifi tomahawk, upgrading from 5950x, and i have to say i regret it. Firstly it supposedly came with a out of the box update that didnt need a manual bios update, that was a lie. Second every boot up took 4-10 minutes, im an old school pc builder and even a person who doesnt work with computers would know somethings wrong. Ive tested every single setting, ans learned this. Dont use expo right now, it defaults your ram to 4800 mhz, dont use ryzen master, had to reset cmos and reinstall the bios update. Dont use pbo it will make the booting times even worse. Ive been through 3 of the same mobos, and 2 different cpus, and tested 3 different kits of ram, and the issues are persistent. There is 0 manual overclocking in the bios, its locked to auto no matter what i change or do, and ive been doing this for the past 3 days. If anyone knows or fixed any of these issues please please let me know. Microcenter replaced all these parts, tested them and saw the same thing, ive changed power supplies, changed wattage from 750 all the way up to 1000, changed between using one cpu 8 pin, and 2 cpu 8 pin into the mobo, unplugged everything and slowly put everything back and come back to the same "dram light" and "cpu" light that magically resolves itself after 10 minutes of waiting for it to post

Ryzen 5 9600X and RX 8700 XT will be good 1440p combo when released. 8700 XT will compete with 7800 XT which is already a 1440p dominator. So can't wait for RDNA 4 and Ryzen 9000 series to drop in price by the time RDNA 4 releases.

PBO still won't stop the CPU from bottlenecking the Ryzen 4070

Like I said, huge potential for Laptops

It's my first time to see the cpu that require you to enable something to unlock the full performance like Ryzen 9000 did

That's the reason why I always overclock everything I have, in case I recieve the massive perf boost from it

actually I really liked this idea, that's what makes Ryzen 4070 that great

If a CPU can get the same performance as a last gen one while drawing a lot less power, that's a win in my books. There are already super powerful CPUs and I doubt that many people need or can afford top of the like processors anyway
