2 years ago I was going through some heavy shitt mentally. Then I found your channel and managed to focus more on self care and improving my skincare rather than all my other issues. Your skincare tips actually was one of my main ways into self care and again self love. Just wanted to say thank you for your existence and your amazing content!

I’ve been using collagen supplements for about 4 years. As a runner & free weights enthusiast, I can say it works! I’m 54 & people think I’m much younger.

My husband and I have been taking hydrolyzed bovine collagen about 4 years (now ages 77 and 70). His skin had become very fragile and bruised terribly, plus he has type 2 diabetes. He has ZERO bruising and tearing now. My arthritic joints are much less painful, and I do think my skin is firmer. I use Dr. Youn’s brand. Thank you for this important update.

I learned that collagen production slows down after 25 and consuming alcohol increases the rate of collagen loss. That alongside learning other downsides to alcohol eventually turned me from a high functioning alcoholic to quitting cold Turkey in January!

Target had a huge sale on Orgain Collagen and Peptide Powder so I purchased it and wanted to learn more. I’ve been drinking it for 2 weeks and I noticed my nails had been transparent since 2018-ish. Now they are finally turning white 🫣💛

I was surprised that the bovine collagen (Primal Kitchen) actually helped my hip sockets and lower back which always ache the day after exercising. Took the bovine collagen daily in my coffee and one day noticed that I didn’t have that achy feeling anymore. I then tried marine collagen (California Gold Nutrition) that comes with hylauronic acid and vit C, and I noticed my baby hairs along my hairline growing back, especially the more sparse side. And my face skin felt more hydrated than usual. This did nothing for my joints tho. I mix it in my matcha with nut milk and I really like it! I’m currently trying grass fed gelatin powder to see if I get any noticeable results because it’s cheaper I think lol. I just wonder if these powders spike insulin in the morning on an empty stomach?

I take 10g of collagen from the brand Vital Proteins; it has no taste and dissolves instantly into my water I drink at the gym, an easy way to get it all in. I notice my nails and hair are stronger when I take consistently, also using anti-aging products for my face so I can say if it’s helped there or if that’s the adapalene and Skinceuticals etc 💕 thanks for the informative video Dr Dray

This is just my self reflection. I have been taking collagen for 8 months, been on retinol and red light therapy for a year. I felt so much better personally. And my overall health has been improved. BTW, I'm 45. I'd suggest people take it better sooner than later

I was reluctant to take collagen until recently. Because of the most recent studies have shown some positive results, I have started to take 5 gr/day. I am 72. I hope it will go some way to preserving not only my skin, but also keep my joints working. Thank you once again Dr Dray. I look forward to your videos and the comments of others. 💙

This doctor is so smart and analytical. I love how she takes these studies apart and doesn’t dumb down the content for her audience. Following her train of thought is as beneficial as her content.

Thank you! You are one of the very few YouTubers I actually trust when it comes to skincare because you objectively look at the research.

I started collogen peptides 4 months ago for joint pain. I didn't notice anything (including growth in my hair and nails) But they're both thick anyway) so I was feeling discouraged, but I kept at it. Today, 4 months later I woke up and realized Im pain free! It was so gradual that I didn't even notice the change until now. I'm hoping next year I will notice it in my skin. 🙏

Those of us with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome would LOVE LOVE LOVE a video about our genetically faulty collagen and how to take care of our fragile skin as there are no videos on YouTube about it. Collagen supplements are sadly unlikely to help us much as we will just produce more faulty collagen 😢

Something that myself and a couple friends have noticed since taking collagen, we all are having much more regular and normal bowel movements. I’ve suffered from IBS for years, while I still have occasional bloating, it’s improved at least 80%

I was diagnosed with Classical Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome about 20 years ago and have been taking powdered hydrolyzed collagen peptides for about the last 6-7 years. While the supplement doesn't change the fact that my body produces defective connective tissue, I have still found substantial benefits. My skin is still fragile, but it heals much more quickly when I take the supplement consistently. Instead of a zit tearing my skin and taking 6+ months to heal from being an open wound/scab, it now takes closer to 1-2 months. My joints sound less like rice krispies or bubble wrap popping with every movement and when I have inevitable injuries, I find that I am able to recover faster. I have taken breaks from taking the supplement off and on through the years due to money or questioning if it was actually helping. I can say with certainty there a noticeable difference when I stopped the collagen, which improved after a couple months to taking the collagen again. It's not a cure all, but it has improved my quality of life.

Look at you all lovely in green! Such a complimentary color on you Dr Dray!

And PERFECT timing on this topic! I’ve only recently started taking the Vital Proteins collagen supplement, unsure if it’s beneficial or not. So thank you! Always count on you for super informative videos! 💚

I am seventy six and have used collagen for several years and am very happy with what I see in the mirror; also do power walking and weights!

I take marine collagen peptides specifically for joint health since I deal with painful joints and it really helps. Any beauty & skin benefits are a huge welcome bonus. It's nice to know that more studies are being done and are showing positive results. 💙

For several months I was using a supplement with 5 types of collagen. I noticed my digestion and joints were better as well as well as my skin and hair. To be fair, I was a couple of years younger. I’m not consistently using a collagen supplement right now, but my hair and nails grow really fast. I’m also post-menopausal.
