Easy obstruction. Shouldn’t even be a question.

It’s a warning for the 2nd baseman for obstruction blocking and the runner gets awarded 2nd

I dont think should've been an ejection. 2B man didnt have the ball till like 1 second before the runner hit him. For the runner he was just assuming the player was blocking waiting for the throw. SS looked like he was blocking the runner from getting to safe despite the ball being dropped. Runner didnt hit him with a lot of force. Its just his momentum from running. And yes he didnt slow down but hes not supposed to. Hes in a run down.

That bunt was good....the second baseman was in the way of the runner. So he is safe.

You ejected the runner for running over someone that was in the baseline and didn't have the ball until he was literally within a step of him? Coach had every right to chew you out, that's a terrible call.

The Fielder was in the base path and inhibited the path of the runner which automatically allows them to take the base and is a dead ball.

Obstruction IMO. Ejection is a joke, he dodnt had the ball and was blocking.

Btw, not an ejection, coaches teach their kids to do this because without the ball the player is in the baseline, it’s obstruction.

Edit-800 likes! It’s a close play that can go either way, depending on if the umps decide if he had control of the ball, but personally even though he had it, I think it’s obstruction. He had the ball but didn’t have full control

That runner was definitely not in the wrong lmao, not even a cat could react that fast, get out of the way if you don’t have the ball, simple

Obstruction ump! Holy hell that’s the literal definition of OBSTRUCTION

Rundowns happen in a figure 8 for a reason! That’s a clear obstruction of path and the base is awarded to the runner! GOYK blue you’re blowing the game

Fielder: I'm just going to stand in the baseline waiting for the ball

Ump: Fielder Right of Way applies you're ejected, runner!

Obstruction:

BS call. The more stuff I watch from this guy the worse I realize he is.

This is actually an example of a terrible decision by the umps to expect someone mid rundown to stop like that

wtf that’s a fair play blue that guy was in my way with out the ball, the crash out comes after you throw him.. it was a little much didn’t have to truck him but he didn’t have ball that’s the easiest way to get your base as a runner is when someone screws up the pickle gets in the way with out the ball.

Why is the batter wearing blue but the runner who made it home wearing red?

It gets tricky in a pickle. When a runner is caught between bases and fielders have the runner in a pickle (a rundown), each time the fielders exchange the ball and the runner reverses direction, the runner has created a new base path . Each time you have this reversal you have a new base path because you have a new fielder attempting to make a tag (and therefore a new "straight line to the base"), and so you have to adjust your view of the base path accordingly. (On a side note, obstruction also comes into play in this scenario.)
So you have to be mindful that, during a pickle, the base path is going to migrate every time there's a throw. Obstruction does not even require contact, but any fielder that is in a runner's base path without possession of the ball is obstructing.

If you ejected the runner the SS who grabbed him thereafter should’ve also been gone too

Why was anyone ejected? A baserunner has a 3 ft lane that he established going from first. If a fielder is in that lane, he is subject to be run over.

So I just watched this video 4 times and what I got out of it is the runner got ejected because the 2nd baseman was blocking the base path? I’m glad you werent umpiring my games coming up 😂.
