I'm one of the schmucks @9: 13 who built it from Gibraltar to Singapore when BBA first came out since I wasn't sure if using pre-existing railways would work. Since I already flattened everyone as Germany by that point I just played railroad simulator and built other large railways around the world while waiting. Dakar to Djibouti, Cairo to Cape Town, Berlin to Baghdad, several parallel lines to the Trans-Siberia railway etc.

I got all of the old achievements on No Step Back. Many of them are just problematic so quick tips to the most bugged one:
1. "Underpaid, Undersexed, and Under Eisenhower"
Even when assuming leadership as non aligned and then pupeting UK, when you draw order after calling a certain ammount of troops the game just always says that AI will not accept sending more troops. Ignored it and sendin a request when red cross was still there and UK's AI accepted anyway.

2. "Crusader Kings IV"
Even when selecting right focuses as Ethiopia when you click decision to move capital it bugs. Only Method found is to let enemy AI occupy your country and hold Jerusalem until it's last province left. Being in a faction make this posibble because after capitulation you still have "movable" capital.(maybe this one was fixed in a update, unlike first tip this achievement was obtained short after release of BBA)
