You made such great points here my friend! Not that I’m a long time gardener(just 6 years now) but I’m 100% for the mulching being an absolute must. I hardly weed anymore since my 3rd year of gardening when wiser folks than I told me first, what is mulch, and then second ...always do it! So grateful for that wisdom! One other thing I’d mention for new gardeners is to just start small. Find a few plants you enjoy and give it a go! No need to overwhelm yourself and get discouraged just because you bit off more than you can chew in the early days of your gardening adventure. 😉🙂

Greetings Jeff, question regarding weeds, I recently moved and my backyard has bugs so I’m utilizing the yard by sections clearing areas out little by little. The weed Is cut then utilized for mulching wouldn’t I be transferring the bugs? How should I manage this situation? Thank you in advance for your answer(s). Bye, God’s Blessings!

I don't make mistakes. When it comes to gardening, I prefer "learning experiences." In 2019, I grew in fabric containers, like Smart Pots. I could plant more in the fabric pot than I could have if the pots were plastic. The plants don't get root bound in the fabric pots. That's one thing that I learned. Last year, I didn't grow a garden, container or otherwise. I did consider setting up an indoor garden; but, don't really have the space. Maybe for sprouts, I do.

If I were allowed to put out my fabric pots this year, there are things that I would do differently from 2019. I would trellis the cucumbers rather than let them sprawl.

I'm still learning about bell peppers. I'd love to be able to grow them; but, over the years, since I've lived in Washington, I do not have much success. Tomatoes, on the other hand, are the easiest for me to grow, especially Early Girl. They seem to do really well as long as I give them enough water.

Question for you. Do you get a ton of weeds using fresh grass cutting to mulch? It scares me to mulch with grass. I have never mulched my in ground garden & have had success without it. This year I want to try as I am putting in raised beds and drip irrigation. But worried about excessive gras weeds. Thanks for help & great video.

So I am confused about when to transplant outside. I have a 3x5 indoor grow tent with a light. My tomato and pepper seed packets said to start 6-8 weeks before the average last frost. I am in zone 9B and my average last frost is Feb 30th, March 1st depending on the source. I started my plants 5 weeks before the last frost and some of them are already 8 inches tall looking like they are ready to go outside now. I have also read not to transplant tomatos outside until night time temperatures are consistently in the 50s. I am just seeing contradictory planting advice, can I plant after my last frost date, or do I have to wait until night time temperatures are in the 50s.
