3:03 to 3:24 That is a president of he church saying Mormons can become gods. Plain and simply.

The church loves playing the semantics game: planets not planet, sacred not secret, celestial marriage not polygamy, same sex attraction not homosexual, membership withdrawal not excommunication. One of the many gods mormonism worships is the god of technicalities.

“God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret.... It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know... that he was once a man like us.... Here, then, is eternal life – to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves... the same as all Gods have done before you...”

- Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., “King Follett Discourse, ” Journal of Discourses, v. 6, pp. 3-4, also in Teachings of the Prophet of Joseph Smith, pp. 345-346.

A church with a prophet who speaks to god and for god . Doesn’t seem to know what they believe and have no confidence in any of their doctrine.

What bothered me most when I started waking up was how church leaders tried to change doctrine and hide past doctrine when they quoted early leaders. Very 1984-esque.

Everything in this church is PR. If they get called out on weird teaching they change it to look less cultly. Making them look more like a cult.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for pulling this together. I'm especially grateful you found those references from the manuals, which I don't often see cited elsewhere but which are so foundational to how we're all taught within the church. I keep getting told "you must have just been in a weird ward" or "you misunderstood...I never thought that" about so many issues. You rock, Nemo. Loving catching up on your videos.

The phrase "As man is, God once was. As God is man may become" is printed on the inside cover of The Plan. That album was released in 1973. Track #3, "Before the Beginning" is clearly about pre-mortal existence. The last track, "Going Home" mentions "I'm a spaceman, from a different land, trying to get back home..." I listened to that LP for years without having the slightest thought about the meaning it was trying to convey...

Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, to day, and forever."
If this is true, then God could never have been a man like us. Once again the church contradicts itself.

3:22 the Gospel is grace for the wickness in everone hearts that is punishable in the second death. What part of salvation doesn't this wanabe god get. The Gospel is a gift of a pardon by belief in GOD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. Mormons believe it is a progression to being a god of your own creation. LOL. Reality based on Mat. 22::30 we will be like angles and be slaves to the GOD that created us out of love.

The Bible is clear there is only one God! "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

The gospel is forever changing, if you don't like churches doctrine now not to worry it will morph again.

Thanks for doing this video. I saw a video this past week from the 1960s that is a dramatization of "the plan". It specifically talks about us becoming Gods and having dominion over worlds as gods and priestesses.

I could never share this with my TBM family. It would be too painful for them 😢

Who needs "anti-mormon" material when you've got the words of the Mormon prophets to work with?

Isaiah 14: 12-15 (KJV) satan is cast from heaven for just thinking in his heart he could exalt himself to be like God."

We have to remember that God is a titled, He is our Heavenly Father, but because of his greatness he is a God, there is the exalted person, but there is the position a presiding office, described and named as God,

Yeah I mean, I was taught not that we would "get our own planet", but that we would be able to literally initiate the creation of an entire universe. And it makes sense. If god is responsible for the creation of all things (John 1:3) then we would also have that capability. I remember thinking about being in the celestial kingdom and being given this little marble of light which was basically my own little universe waiting to go through its own "big bang". Haha. I just had to get to some "empty part of space" and say the word and BOOM!!

Haha yeah. That's... not how the expansion of the universe works. But it would make for a cool movie if someone were to ever make a hollywood film roughly based around Mormon theology.
