I think the last part of the scene is really well shot. It’s from afar, which juxtaposes with the rest of it where the camera is right up next to the soldiers and the action is right there. It’s a major difference from that last scene. And the American ends up running off afterwards to join up with the rest. It’s really captured well.

1:23 love his thumbs up, really shows a soldier’s stoicism
“Yeah I had hundreds of rounds of lead being thrown in my direction but you know it’s part of the job”

Fun fact ! At 2.04 this scene is actually misrepresented

A group of german paratroopers were surrounded in a building and refused to surrender when givin the chance and were throwing grenades from the roof and putting a stubborn resistance....eventually lt spears ordered fox and dog company to completely level the building with mortars and bazookas....when the germans ran out they were slaughtered in the cross fire one of then running out and being shot point blank in the chest with his weapon down

My great grandfather was in fox company during this very battle and saw it himself

One of the greatest television shows of all time. This and the Sopranos made HBO what it was and ultimately led to Netflix and modern streaming. People gotta respect Band of Brothers, not just for portraying a fascinating slice of American History, but also massively contributing to modern media consumption.

I love how this series doesn't make battle seem badass in the Tom Cruise sense. Anyone who says war is fun has never served or is a Psychopath. There's nothing fun about watching your friends die.

According to Dale Dye when he was featured in HBO's podcast (i think thats what they're called) the way they do the action was that Dale briefed the actors about a battle plan because originally there were planned out action sequences but Dale convinced the director to let him brief the officers on what to do as if he was actually giving out orders in combat and let them do their thing. Dale told the director to start rolling the cameras and this is what we got which is what exactly what the director of the episode envisioned

I seriously can't watch this part with serious face anymore.
I've seen "the clown throws pie"-version too many times. So thanks, Internet. :-D

A veteran once told me that during scenes of these battles the common inaccuracy is that there is a stop and start of discernable noises. It didn't matter how loud you shouted - nonone could understand you. It was all hand signals when you communicated. You also mostly fought from inside the buildings. Stopping anywhere outside was rare and you usually went through walls. There were no American "snipers" except for rare examples. They had designated rifelmen. Finally, some American soldiers would rush buildings shouting "Canada". Germans were terrified of them

It's not that talked about, but Welshie throwing that grenade and killing those gunners, made sure the rest of the company could enter Carentan. They were positioned very strategically so they overlooked all the pathways Easy could come through.
Harry Welsh is my fav so I am biased, but the man was fucking ballsey.

How come you didn't include the part where Liebgott comforts Tipper after he's critically injured? Most emotional scene of the whole episode
