Judges not passing judgements is actually the main reason, rather than others passing judgements. People don't like to show off because they fear intimidation, extortion, false cases, blackmail, etc. And they fear all these crimes because of lack of trust in judiciary.

Because it's vacuous consumption that's compensating for some real sadness or a lack of self actualization. Hedonism has no end, it'll be a yacht today, a bugatti tomorrow, a spaceship the day after. Doesn't mean you live a minimalist life, just that mindless consumption will leave you unfilled and needing more.

I am actually proud of this mentality of Indians. We are simple people high thinking. Paisa dikahana Kya badi baat hai, humble rehna insaan ki class dikhata hai.

There’s a difference between buying stuff that you genuinely like and buying stuff to just show off. Aur dekho bhai jitna paisa dikhega utna tum limelight mei aaoge, you’ll attract attention and people will take notice of you, for better or for worse, especially in a county like India, where the wealth disparity is so much. Some people like that some people don’t it’s just that.
