Hey Glamfam! In this video I am discussing why it is that so many people struggle with what feels like constant dry hair, and how you can fix it, or identify what the issue even is! The number one cause of breakage is dryness, so we want to ensure we are correctly identifying and solving the issue. As always, if you have any questions, let me know in the comments! Until next time y'all, take care, God bless, and stay glam!

What dries out my hair:
1. Hard water
2. shampoo every week
3. styling products daily...yes edge control is drying out your edges and that is why they are breaking off every day. I'm not even going to say anything about those who stick down their wigs daily. Y'all want edges or wigs? 😋
4. having my hair out; ends flapping in the wind
5. Not deep conditioning weekly
6. Not spraying a leave-in mist daily
7. Forgetting my satin/silk scarf/bonnet while sleeping/napping.
8. cold air including airconditioning
9. central heating in the winter
10. excessive sun on my hair.
the end. 😅🤣😂

I’m just here to acknowledge that you always deliver information with pure compassion or humor. Thank you for never being condescending or rude ❤ Your channel has been my safe place for learning about my hair and, surprisingly, my mental health too!

I was just complaining about my hair feeling dry. Now I know I was doing it wrong. I needed this

Great reminders and gems. The biggest breakthrough for my hair was realizing there is a difference between moisture and oil. Now, I have a moisturize and seal routine that has revived my dry ends. In addition, I've learned what moisturizes my hair and identified that my hair hates coconut oil.

Makes perfect sense, especially when the curls are shorter, or in a fro state. My hair that can feel dry in a fro ALWAYS feels smooth and soft in twists.

The truth, and a trim, shall set you free!!! I found wearing mostly wash n go's last year had my hair extra dry, frizzy and riddled with single strand knots. After a cut, cause there was no saving the ends, my hair is so much more manageable. Exactly as you described - less tangles and frizz, soft and shiny.

I don't know anything about hair, I've only been to the hair salon twice in my life, my mother didn't believe in it. I just wash condition, put grease on and go. I recently started using a satin pillow case, and that helps. I wet my hair everytime I take a shower, I use leave in conditioner, run my fingers thru it, let it air dry, put my head wrap on, and go about my day I avoid most hair products bc they smell too fruity and loud. You have helped me alot. Thanks so much ❤

This explains why I still have fuzzy, frizzy ends even after deep conditioning my hair. A flat iron won't even straighten them out. I live in desert climate and use very little heat on my hair. You give very useful information, thank you Linwood

Brother Linwood, After my stylist moved away over 20 years ago I just didn't feel I could trust anyone withy my hair. Your videos have been very helpful in helping me to take care of my hair and finally find someone I feel comfortable with. I just got a great cut and will be going back in a few months to keep my ends in check. She also loves your videos. So grateful for your content. Your humor and straight forward advice is sorely needed to cut through all of the noise.

Two thoughts.
1) I always get my ends cut professionally (or use good, professional scissors) because dull scissors give you split ends. I get it trimmed a little bit every 3 months.
2) I always use a satin pillowcase in case my scarf comes off.

I have been dealing with dry hair for most of my life. I have definitely given up. I've only had one hair stylist that loves the science of hair. I'm no longer with her due to moving but she kept my hair from dryness and split ends. She loved the science of hair and skin. She went as far as knowing the chemicals within hair care products and skin care products. I wish for Linwood to be my stylist my hair definitely needs help...haha!

Another reason for dry hair may be that they have hard water. Hard water will definitely make your hair feel drier than the Sahara desert😂!

I’m so hardheaded. How many times throughout the years have I had to come frantically searching through your videos, only to remember I need a trim. Split ends again 🤦🏽‍♀️ Thank you 😂🙏🏽

Thank you! Very informative video...like the part about 😊stretching your hair out & running your finger down. As well, balls on ends equate to split ends.

You really just answered my question. I have deep conditioned & did a hot oil treatment & my hair still feels dry. Also combing it out it's always pieces of hair comes out every where. Thank you so much. ❤
