No one has explained in depth, presented visuals and is transparent like Michelle! Absolutely perfect video.

Deep condition.
Rinse out with warm water.
Apply liquid leave in (preferably something with water & aloe & humectant) then seal with heavier butters or oils.

Hydrate first with water based.
Then seal in with heavier cream with a lower PH.
Then oil to seal in the hair.

Thanks for this information. A lot of people think that moisture and hydration are the same thing. This was a great explanation of the difference between the two.

The biggest thing is making sure you are not hydrating your hair with hard water. That’s most of our problem.

As a cosmetologist who has always has natural hair herself, I really love your approach and scientific explanation in a short video! Also you and your plants are beautiful! Thanks for making this, I will share with my clients.

I have to use a hydration shampoo and a moisture shampoo on wash day, after that I have to steam with deep conditioner. Doing this I have moisture trained my hair to stay moisturize after I do the LCGO method until next wash day. I do incorporate Ayurvedic hair treatments on a regular to balance the moisture. But for the most part I focus on hydration and moisture and steam treatments. Before steaming I could not retain any length, heat caps did not help me, my hair wants steam only, took me a minute to realize what my hair was begging for.

5:00 i think more like keeping your body hydrated allows your body to continue to adequately supply blood flow to your hair follicles in the scalp, thus actually stimulating hair growth. Your hair and nails are the last thing your body cares about as they are dead stuctures.
Nice video over all though. I like how you kind of emphasized the importance of both hydration and moisture. too many people make it look like the 2 are mutually exclusive or one is more important than the other(usually hydration). However, they go hand and hand for natural hair since unlike straight hair, it doesn't get full coating from sebum.
You cant have moisture without water, and hydration is transient without moisturizers.

Glad I came across this video. Because I have been doing the “cool” rinse after my heated deep conditioning. And my hair is at a length that I am not used to taking care of as a natural. Yet, I am Definitely going to do the warm rinse moving forward to receive that classic length hair that I’m striving for!

Thanks for that information But Why rinse conditioner off in warm water if warm water raises, the cuticle but the conditioner is supposed to close the cuticle
Wouldn’t that be rinsing out all the conditioner
Cold water is a sealant to lock in the moisture

Thank you so much for this information. I have been struggling to maintain my natural hair and find products that actually help it. Knowing this makes some things alot more clear!!!

Thank you Michelle. I needed this video. I have dry grey hair. I used steam but felt after its still not enough. I have moisture for about half a day. May need to switch my regime and products.

I generally keep my hair in loose knotless braids I do myself.
Everytime I go to my stylist for trims, she has to cut so much because of dryness breaking my hair off.
I've always used the leave-in sprays.thinking that's enough.
Now, I'm going to incorporate a cream as well over the braids, use the spray first so that the cream can travel to my hair, amd an oil to seal.
I have not been able to retain much length this past year.
So, I'm hoping this method works this time around when I go for my next trim.
