It's so frustrating that there are so MANY things can cause afro textured hair to break off or fall out.

This video saved my hair! I didn't know that the itching, burning was connected to breaking. I certainly didn't know it was indicative to a disease that could lead to permanent hair loss. I'm coming at it with everything I can, from inside out and outside. Nutrition, massage, essential oils, lots of attention. It's been a month and my hair is only 1/4" long at the crown but, at least it's not bald so I know I have a chance. It's very thick but short.

I've been using aloe Vera gel and it has been helping, I don't have soreness and that part of my hair is growing again

Very informative. Well done. I agree with separating the crown and paying extra attention to it. Good point.

It's so funny that you mention changing up the sectioning. I figured this out due to the sore area. It's really made a difference. The hair in this area has grown out and no longer sore. 🥰

Omg this just happened with crochet braids 😔. It was itching TERRIBLY and sore and now it's thin and breaking! And this has happened in cycles over my life time (both being natural and permed) So grateful for this video!

Thank you for this video...I have finally found out what the problem is with the crown of my hair for over 20 years.
I got this condition from a relaxer. Thank you so much!

I love how you did an animation of this condition and topic. I watch it over and over again. I am dealing with this problem, with no relief in site.

I literally come back to this video year to year as I'm growing back my Alopecia area and want to correctly prevent future breakage

I have been diagnosed with this condition. Taking vitamins and going to start treatment soon. I also cut my hair into a tapered style, because no more braids, or plaits, nor wigs.
Additionally its occurs when the body is inflamed. So I've got to change my diet too.

This video has brought to light all of the negative issues I've been having with my hair for YEARS! Tender scalp at the crown, tight ponytails and high buns with bobby pins. My hair has always grown in an upside down "u". Sides grow for days but the center is a different story. I now realize it's because I've never truly cared for my crown. Thanks a million, I have so many notes 😊

USDA Black Seed Oil applied to my scalp 3x weekly, added to my shampoo and leave in conditioner along with taking 1 tsp in the morning and 1 tsp before bed grew back the balding area at my crown and nape area that i suffered with for several years, and it stopped the soreness and irritation in those areas almost immediately after application!

This is my life. Hair is mostly healthy & growing fine, but that patch at the crown is short & bristly, like, a 1/4 inch short. I feel so hopeless....

Great video! I got my diagnoses after a biopsy. I was relaxed at the time and he told me to go natural and stay away from tight braids/twists. That was about 10yrs ago and today, although I still have symptoms of CCCA, being natural has helped. My crown's condition is delicate...but texture strong. 😊

Oh goodness. You've got my hair on the button. I've complained for years about the tenderness in my crown. It is also the kinkiest and hardest to moisturize. Great video and tips. I'm trying loose twist and saving my parts to retain more length in my 4c hair. I'll be sure to incorporate your tips and I just subscribed. Small world. My girlfriend is the founder of the puff cuff. I love mine.

Thanks for this video. A few years ago, I share a video showing how I grew my crown area. I agree with sectioning the crown area apart and paying close attention to that area

Good information and easily implemented, as well. This is how I care for my daughter’s scalp. Because she’s 10 and has too much hair for me to leave loose, I keep her hair in twists and loose buns. She’s had no scalp or breakage issues thus far and her hair is to her waist line.
