I show you how to attach or put on the neck strap to a Nikon DSLR Camera. Note in this video is a Nikon D850 but should be the same with most Nikon cameras. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I've had my Nikon 3200 for a few if not several years now and have never never known how to put the neck strap on properly. I would just slit it through the sides and tie a knot. Your video explained it well enough to understand and do correctly. left a like and will probably save for future reference.

Nikon actually shows in the manual the running end of the strap pointing down towards the strap lug. So you end up with 3 layers going through the keeper loop.

I hate to be picky, but what you are showing is - in fact - NOT how you are supposed to attach the camera strap. According to the D850 manual page 15 (and all the other Nikon manuals I have ever read), Nikon recommends a slight but important difference to your process: The inner portion of the strap is fed into the buckle from the TOP (far end, away from the camera), so the loose end sits between the upwards and downwards portion of the strap. While this has no real impact from a functional or safety perspective, it nicely encapsulates the loose end, so nothing rubs or gets caught. This also prevents the quite unlikely situation that something pushed down on the loose end when it can eventually slip through the buckle. Make so that the loose end protrudes about 20mm (an inch or so) to further reduce the risk. After all, you don't want your camera crashing to the ground because of a strap failure, do you?
