Oils Don’t Hydrate Our Hair! #blackhaircare #naturalhair

✨ Here’s the thing: Oils are great for sealing moisture in, but they can’t hydrate on their own. For truly hydrated hair, apply a water-based moisturizer first, then use oil to lock that moisture in.

That's right! I'm doing my braid pattern for crochet braids and I use Aunt Jackie's Quench Leave-In Conditioner first then lock 🔐 it in with Carol's Daughter Honey Mimosa Hair Pomade (Grease) on my scalp, hair roots to ends. My hair loves it. When I brist (braid twist) my hair I use the Quench and when I take out my braid pattern a month or so later, i have less breakage, and my scalp and hair looks and feel healthy

Oils are the best. I specifically use scalp oils and castor oil for the ends of my hair. The only time i use it all over my head is with a hot oil treatment before washing it all out. You have to know how to use them, like do some research before using natural products and they won’t damage your hair. I reached waist length in 3 years from a 1inch big chop. I couldn’t have achieved that without oils and aruyvedic herbs. Those Indian girls with floor/knee length hair use a lot of oils.

Oil nourrish, protect and repair water hydrate moisturise one needs both for healthy hair. Butters or grease lock in the oil + water in the hair. Essential oils repair + stimulate

Thank You Tonya ❤️!
I get it but I don't?
I am trying to do DIY!
I want to support Black businesses. I'm old school and cheap. I have decided to cut my hair and wear an Afro because I sweat alot plus I saw these women with these gigantic Afro as well as women who trim their own hair.
I believe 🙏🏾? I finally have a goal and a direction how 🤔 I want to wear my hair.
I like so far Bentonite clay. I need to learn how to do a natural conditioner. I especially need to make my closet simpler with products that I know that works for me plus I like to use.
I appreciate you Tonya!
God Bless!!!
I'm missing my Instagram app. I need to stick to what I know how to work. Lol 😢

I used to do this, and my hair was never soft, always greasy and broke off a lot.
I use oils all the time, but make sure to use a real moisturizer for my hair 💀😂

Thanks for the info. We were told to put grease . Thinking that is what keeps your hair from getting dry.
