I recently started oiling my hair again and the shedding has decreased by more than 75%. I love it.

As an asian girl, my mother has taught me from basically the age I started showering myself to always oil my hair an hour or 2 after showering (not while it's still wet because your hair is still delicate) and not putting too much in either. The secret she tells me is that if your hair looks like it's shining too much when reflecting thats way too much but on the other hand if you don't have a bit of shine thats way too low. You want a mid shine thats natural and sparkles your hair without drenching, if your hair look wet after oiling then thats too much. Also avoid applying the oil on the strands themselves, but rather brush the oil down with your fingers from root to the tip. Imagine your scalp like ur face, you don't want to overwhelm it or leave it completely dry, put a light thin layer to boost your hair and scalp.

I'm getting into more "girly" things as an adult but it feels like I missed the boat since I didn't do it as a kid.

This video while also being super helpful and teaching me a lot.

I feel like I came over to a girl(y) friend's house and I was given the beauty secrets. And treated with compassion because I made the same mistakes as you. Thank you so much for this video.

THIS IS SO HELPFUL! I've heard so many people say to use a hair oil, so I've been doing it...but never like this! I'm going to try this to help repair my daughter's damaged hair!

1. Detangle your hair
2. Heat 1 tbsp of avocado oil + few drops of rosemary oil en baño maria (pure oil)
3. Massage oils into the scalp (feel the skin)
4. Apply a little oil to hair (not to much)
5. Massage scalp gently 5 mins
6. Tie your hair with a clasp (not tight) and apply a hair cap
7. Use a heat cap or hot cotton shirt
8. Leave 1-8 hours
9. Shower: soak hair in warm water in shower 1 min, then use shampoo and clean hair for 3 mins
10. Put argan/coconut oil on ends of hair to protect
11. Do this once a week

You also need to keep in mind that certain oils are different chemically. Penetrating Oils will have Monounsaturated Fatty Acids and Saturated Fatty Acids which have a linear build that makes it easier to penetrate the hair shaft. Oils like these are: Olive & Avocado, Sweet Almond
Protecting Oils/Butters: Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, Grapeseed, Safflower, Argan, Kukui. Protecting Oils have Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids that create a protectivefilm around the hair shaft. So these kind of oils are best used to apply AFTER showering to TRAP moisture in the hair shaft. It will only create a barrier on the hair and not penetrate it.

When I was in highschool I used to oil my hair and massage my scalb everyday to move the dead hair out and enhance circulation. My hair arguable was better than it is right now, even when I was curling and ironing my hair. I don't know why I stopped but I need to start doing it again.

Wow, I had no idea I was using way too much oil. And yes, I'd have to overwash to strip the oil out, making it dry. Great tips!!

My hair was feeling super dry so I put a tiny amount of light oil on my lengths and ends last night (like what you’ve done in the last step of your video) and my hair is SO much softer, just from doing this one step, one time! I can’t wait to try a hot oil treatment this weekend like what you’ve done here, thanks!

Growing up as an Indian girl and being very familiar with coconut oil benefits to my hair, I'm very surprised with how many mistakes my parents made with applying oil to my hair. For one thing, they would warm it up in the microwave (wrong), and very roughly massage it into my scalp and hair (wrong), use a fine tooth comb to comb through it after (wrong), tie my hair in a very tight french braid and rolled up in a tight bun (wrong), have me keep it in for like a day and a half or over the whole weekend (wrong), and wash it 3 times in the shower with hot hot 🔥 water and shampoo until my hair was completely stripped of all its oils 😂 (also wrong) lol and then towel dry then blow dry my hair until there was no moisture left 😀 now as an adult I finally know how to do it the right way haha thank you very much for this video. I'm going to do an organic virgin coconut oil treatment on my hair now and follow all your steps. I'll be referring to this video in the future very often 👍🏽
