Lia Thomas: ‘feminist’ adversaries who want her banned from competition are misogynistic transphobes

Controversial transgender swimmer Lia Thomas slammed her “feminist” adversaries as misogynistic transphobes who reduce women to the value of their reproductive abilities.

The NCAA gold medalist told fellow trans swimmer Schuyler Bailar that her own University of Pennsylvania teammates displayed fraud feministic beliefs when they wrote a 2022 letter asking the division to bar Thomas from competition.

“They’re like, ‘Oh, we respect Lia, as a woman, as a trans woman or whatever, we respect her identity, we just don’t think it’s fair.’ You can’t really have that sort of half-support where you’re like, ‘Oh, I respect her as a woman here, but not here,'” Thomas said in a Monday episode of Bailar’s new podcast “Dear Schuyler.”

“They’re using the guise of feminism to sort of push transphobic beliefs. I think a lot of people in that camp sort of carry an implicit bias against trans people, but don’t want to, I guess, fully manifest or speak that out. And so they try to just play it off as this sort of half-support.”

In the interview — which aired just four days after House Republicans voted to ban transgender female athletes from taking part in girls’ and women’s sports — Thomas said that false feminists are hindering progress for women’s rights by fighting against trans women.

The point he made in the first 10 seconds of the video is absolutely right. You can't have it both ways, so call him what he is: a delusional man.

Leave it to Lia to tell biological women and girls not wanting to compete with Lia they are transphobic. The lack of self awareness...

As a society we should have never let it get this far to begin with. This is ridiculous.

If you THINK or FEEL like a woman, by all means go ahead. Those who THINK or FEEL like a woman (or the opposite gender) need to also understand, you HAVE to compete in your BIOLOGICAL category. This isn't discrimination, it's common sense.

"You cant really have that sort of half support"

When you push for an all or nothing approach to trans acceptance, you may end up with nothing.

It’s not fair fool. We respect you dressing as a woman.
It’s not fair that you are taking real women’s places and opportunities in sports

The fact that WILL Thomas couldn't cut it in the male version of the sport then changes his name and identity to then dominate in the woman's version, yet wants to be treated as equal is a complete joke. To take an altered version of a line from the movie, Coming To America, "His mama named him Will, Imma call him Will!" Your desire to identify as something else doesn't change you and doesn't mean that the world has to comply with that. Sorry.

He's a guy that couldn't win against other males, now his extra testosterone allows him to win. We're so proud of you.

The rights women fought so hard for are being destroyed by men in dresses...
If it wasn't so sad the irony would be funny.

I have an idea to solve this. Make a team for Trans people to compete with their own kind.

No, they are respecting how you feel within yourself, but opposing it having a detrimental effect on other peoples lives. Which is both respectful and fair. The world and everyone within it doesn't have to bow to how you feel.

The actual women who put up with this stuff are the problem. We should have NEVER allowed this.

Forget about everything, it's voice alone is a genuine male.

Well there it is people. Lia said it's all or nothing. No nuance. No discussion. No compromise. So if it's all or nothing I'll have to side with nothing.

Lis is a man and competing against women is just plain cheating. The fact that he was ranked around 400 when swimming as a man tells you what his motivation was for transitioning.

An XY gaslighting and exerting their will at the expense of women...sounds like misogyny to me.

Martin Luther King, Jr. stated, "“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” We, on the side of fairness and equality for biological women in sports, are passionate for those principles of fairness and equality, and will forever put our voices to it. I have no hate for Lia Thomas - I completely respect this person's right to choose their own path of life. As an age-group triathlete, for every race I compete in, I am continually outdone by biological women who are younger, fitter, faster and more talented than myself. After the race, I applaud them, and congratulate them, for the guts they have to suffer through a triathlon, and for those thousand unseen mornings they are training, sweating, suffering and dreaming. One more quote from Dr. King: "“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” The voices of fairness and equality for biological women in sports will not go away.
