You have a gentle and loving nature with your kids. That’s just so endearing to see. Oh, and I like your attention to detail to your work. Well done.

Pretty good install, if you didn’t weather seal the wood opening before installing the window. Trust me, water will get behind the brick and molding, and just get in contact with the wood framing. You need to waterproof at the wood framing first, then at the exterior cladding. But if the window doesn’t see too much water due to having a large overhang or something protecting it from water, you should be fine.

Man, when I heard your daughter then it cut to the scene where you were plugging in the mitre saw, I already knew why. Teaching the kids what work is and being safe ate the same time.

You should produce more content. I can see your channel blowing up with how you explain the process.

Great! The only video I could find that shows the profile of the pvc trim. I currently have pine (rotted), and I was wanting a more squared profile like this one. Thanks for posting!

I hope you are planning to insulate the window at some point. To help control water outside, it's best to install the bottom sill first and have the two verticals sit on top. Great vids look forward to more content .

Excellent tip on unplugging power tools. My kids in college but I would always remove battery from cordless tools too.

Nice trick with the side molding to prevent the window from falling out when by yourself. 👍

Good tutorial just one thing. It looks like you only caulked the pvc trim and not the window itself. That only gives you one exterior layer of protection from the water if it runs on the face of the window. Doesn’t protect if water runs behind the brick trim and directly onto the window itself.

What y’all will want to do is once the window is set inject your low expansion foam (there are foams specifically for this job) then caulk the window frame from the outside. Apply your trim and then caulk that too. This gives you two layers of caulk protection on the exterior. Once this is done you can repeat the same steps from the inside.
