Who can forget how big CGI was back in the 1950s. They had those good AI generated images that were crystal clear on computers the size of a building that took a day to reboot if a part went out which happened every 20 minutes. Also you can prove him wrong by taking him on a trip around Antarctica. If he's right, it would take a very very long time to circle it. Might want to leave him there though.

08:56 A common misconception with vacuum. vacuums don't pull things. Pressure elsewhere draws material into vacuums. Pressure on one side, no pressure on the other. You get pushed into a vacuum, not pulled. Vacuum is just the absence of pressure. It doesn't actually *do* anything or have any power of its own.
Since outer space doesn't "suck" on anything, gravity keeps the atmosphere in place. Air molecules might get bounced into space by air pressure, they'll immediately fall back down because of gravity.
