Netanyahu said in a statement, "The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake. This will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future. I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil: Anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price. We will continue to eliminate the terrorists and those who dispatch them. Hezbollah and Iran do not have the inside intelligence assets that Israel does. If you don't know where your target is, you can hardly hope to hit it! This is not boldness. This is targeting a known landmark with a drone that might hit it and the target might be there and the small blast might find a weak spot in the building which is well armoured against attack. And that is desperation. Such gambolling doesn't mean a thing unless you get really very lucky but the odds are against you. Arabs are fixated with symbolism. Entry onto a battlefield is always heralded as a great victory even if the end product is their humiliating defeat. I cannot help but remember Nasser of Egypt and Hussain of Jordan blithely discussing on a wire tapped phone line how many Israeli aircraft they should say they had destroyed with the air forces that they no longer actually had.
