Don't bury the strawberry crown or the plants will die.
The flowers come out from the crown.
strawberries are perennials so they acclimate to winter.
One plant can live about 5 years.
The roots are shallow so you won't need a very big container.

Not bad, I think it could be much shorter. Also, I was hoping to see more about how best to plant and start the seeds. The 7 hours of sunlight, does that have to be direct sunlight all day? I have a small indoor garden I built when I used to have a southern exposure, but I had to move and I now have a western exposure unfortunately.

Hi so i tried planting strawberries (Ozark Beauty Evergreen) twice now using bare roots from two different nursery and on both occasion i failed, they were planted in loose compost rich soil following all the planting guidelines and still no growth :( what am i doing wrong ??

Dear Oscar, any idea how to solve the pollinating inside? All strawberry experts I told with told: You need insects like bees or do it by yourself by painting brush, otherwise the result will be low (even if self-pollinating sort). But I dont want to keep bees inside the flat...what do you do? Thanks+Rgds! Stefan
