I think the karma system is glitched. I've heard of people doing everything right, resulting in Duke dying. Furthermore, I've heard of people doing everything wrong, resulting in Duke surviving.

You can actually kill people in the first part of the mission as long as you don’t kill anyone after the elevator, Duke will live

i found it out after finishing volga and replay it again 🥲 to found out that he canbe saved

Mostly...
You can't kill villagers or surrendering paladins... But you can kill active threat paladins.

(I'm pretty sure I killed some surrendering paladins at the church too, but vet not to just in case)
Cause I killed armed paladins and still saved duke.

Judging from what was said by the final paladins on the bridge about my exploits...

My decision to always holster my weapons around neutral encounters seems to have also contributed.

They commented about how I slaughtered everyone in my path, but didn't harm anyone that was unarmed. And I helped various members of their congregation along the way.

does knocking people out kill them? i did all this except i knocked out enemies didnt kill one guy. and duke still died.
