Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault from Insomniac Games and Sony Computer Entertainment for Playstation 3.

Ratchet and Clank return with their original camera and gameplay, but with one small change. Now it is a tower defense game, and a pretty good one at that. Each planet has a home base area with generators that need to be protected. You move around the maps completing objectives just like other Ratchet games, but must occasionally return to the base to protect it. Weapons can be upgraded and the game has the great humor of the series, all making for a short but cheap and fun entry to the long running series.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault for Playstation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.

Ryan, it's awesome how much you've grown as a reviewer since the beginning. Great job, and keep this quality coming! You got me really curious about this game. I just may give it a go.

I completely agree, although I gotta love any R&C game that has co-op, it just makes the so much more fun for me. And I liked FFA exactly for that, and I'm a twoer defence fan as well.

I don't think it was a secret area, but you're right he showed up once, and you had to get him a captain qwark statue.

I see what you mean. I consider it canon, but I consider A4O a spin-off due to it sucking and not being like R&C at all.

I'm very proud of Insomniac Games for keeping the series alive for 10 years and i'm looking forward what they will bring up to the series next.

I think that FFA is a very enjoyable game, I grew up with Ratchet and Clank ever since the first title and still plays the games to this day. I feal sorry for Insomniac, the people keep complaining that this game is a piece of trash comparing to the old games. I'll admit this game may not be as great as the older titles but I still support Insomniac what the're doing and it's nice that they did something new.

Why is everyone expecting these new games to be like the old?! Insomniac has stated that these games are to experiment in taking the franchise in new directions, trying different gamemodes, and at the same time, enhancing their game-making skills for the future. This could be a precursor to new Insomniac franchises with new epic gamemodes instead of the platforming and shooting they're used to. I like to place these games in the "Gimmick era" of R&C and shouldn't be compared with the old.

Pretty much everyone in the video game industry, why do you think us and Japan get games earlier than the PAL regions most of the time?

DON'T GET THIS ONE, GET THE TRILOGY COLLECTION OR THE FUTURE SERIES!

Even though it would be awesome if Ratchet & Clank would go back to the original style of gameplay, it's still nice to see this game isn't as bad as All 4 One.

You can pick it up and play, but it's more fun with some knowledge from previous games.
