I don't see why they couldn't just show actual range up by the battery indicator. My dad's Kia eNiro can do this perfectly. The number it says on the dash is how far you can go. The Tesla itself knows exactly how far it can go in the energy app. Why in heavens name can they not just show that number on the screen instead of a hopelessly optimistic estimate. The rest of the software is so good. It would not be hard to do.

Tesla model y performance y owner here very disappointed 315 miles range but in actual world is 200 at best chill mode

I don't have my car yet, but I can see that I'll be a bit obsessive with that app once I do have the car.
