My dad is Type 1. He always told us, "if you are suddenly thirsty and cannot quench your thirst no matter how much water you drink, please tell me or mom straight away." We were all very lucky, none of us ended up with diabetes.

For those who don't know, you might have diabetes. If you are still thirsty no matter how much you drink, go to the hospital immediately. My brother was diagnosed with type 1 when he was 2. And he drank a lot of water and eventually went to the hospital. (Hes ok, they caught it. Hes 15 and doing good. and im glad my grandma was there bc shes a doctor.)

Type 1 diabetic here! A few weeks before I got diagnosed I was INSANELY THIRSTY. And also urinated frequently. I was also unable to keep food in my stomach and lost a lot of weight. Look out for the signs!!

as a diabetic, this is a very common symptom of type 1 diabetes. this also means he has produced ketones which means he could go into DKA. (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)
