Oddly, I used to do this with an old MIJ A2000 INF (the smooth oil tanned brown leather ca. 1990) that was stubbornly stiff, and that thing never loosened up, even with a good amount of conditioner. I eventually had to sell it.

BUT - I just did it with a vintage mid-level Japanese glove (ca 1960, but only light use, and newly re-laced with high quality tan laces) and it was like night & day. Just left it inside-out for maybe 15 seconds and then it was like an old friend. Totally game ready, just like that! :)

How often do you do this? You say not over 30 mins but is this just a one time thing or can you do it everyday?

Absolutely 💯 correct on this method. You can use a little Vaseline but just a little to help soften the stubborn parts. I appreciate you taking time to show new ball players how to easily break in your glove.

Do you have to repeat this process multiple times? I did try this and my a2000 1975 felt a little bit better, but still not able to close.

i had done the hot water method (150 F as aso recommends) and used a 5lb weight to hit my glove, and have wrapped with ball in pocket with a rolled up shirt.

After hot water it was real soft, but once dried it stiffened up again (made me sad lol), but was hesitant of inverting my glove (a1000), but seeing this done to an a2000 made me confident that inside out would not ruin my glove (a1000 is my first non cheapo fake leather glove in my life as i never played more than low level park rec as a kid).

after 15ish minutes, turned it back and would close more easily, but still getting some bubbles at heel/ring finger area (any advice other than more wrapping/hitting??)

Hope it doesn't get stiff again.

Hell I just always slept on mine as a kid and played catch. But I never never had one of those 300-500 dollar gloves that come so stiff it’s insane. I’m sure they’re awesome once they get broke in but damn you literally can’t move those bitches.

Don’t do this I have done this method my glove got creased and couldn’t keep its shape it was harder to open the glove back up than when the glove was stiff to close it .

Not sure why people are hesitant to turn their glove inside out lol. Just seems weird to me. I’d be MUCH more hesitant with some of these ideas people still throw out there like putting your glove in the oven and baking it hahahab.

Your gloves have terrible shape. They look all wonky with the thumb bending out the wrong way. Never have my broken in gloves had such weird shape.
