The colourisation of "apt" is useful. Might have saved LTT !!!

You need a virus scanner in Linux to scan Windows drives. I boot to a live Linux USB drive and then install an Antivirus to scan Windows computers. It is easier to scan and remove viruses from Windows when the OS and by proxy viruses are not loaded into memory. I still remember the first time I did this was for a security firm and their office computer had more viruses, malware, etc. that I have ever seen in my career since. There were over three thousand variants on their system and I am not referring to PUPS, browser extensions, etc. I couldn't just wipe their drive because they had never did a single backup and had all of their client and business files on the system.

Colorization in apt is a darn fine idea! Can't wait for it, but I won't go experimental repos either.
I just switched from Windows to Kubuntu Linux two days ago on the weekend (and I'm absolutely blown away how much I'm loving it) and it's been pretty smooth and anything that needs the terminal seems well documented, but there's still a slight fear of finding and inputting a bad command without understanding the consequences because I'm not familiar with it at all yet. I'm not so much concerned with breaking my system, but rather somehow losing my data that's on a separate 4TB drive is my fear because I don't have a full backup of that, only the most important things are backed up... 😅

I'm running it now.. ONE thing though--- it was glitchy and had issues when I first installed it-- then I TURNED WAYLAND OFF-- and it works PERFECTLY.. no lockup, no glitches - nothing. I also have kde 6 on ARTIX linux- and it was the same-- glitchy- and issues- and when I turned WAYLAND OFF-- it works GREAT-- even the AUTO- tiling (no stupid ass key combos needed) scripts.

I will wait when Cosmic desktop becomes available on NixOS.

Counterpoint: gnome's app store doesn't constantly crash like elementary's and it doesn't use as much resources as a background process.
Is there any app store out there that let's you filter by categories/tags and sort by other criteria than alphabetic or rating on some obscure and manipulated review site? I don't mean synaptic, although that would do if it could integrate flathub or the snap store, for example.

Other than that: shame about clamtk; good for lubuntu and apt; cosmic is just gnome but worse by design in every way, so I sleep 😴

I think Cosmic will be really good. System76 isn't well known for creating garbage.

I don't understand the point of Cosmic, it's just going to fall behind.
