I love The Fifth Season and that whole trilogy! Also Fingersmith was good fun. My favorite Waters so far is A Little Stranger. Great haul!

You’ve reminded me that I want to read more Tim Winton! I read The Shepherd’s Hut last year and loved it. I’ve been meaning to read more of his books. I have American Dirt and plan to read it soon so I’m avoiding all reviews and buzz on it. I remember hearing Regan at Peruseproject rave about N.K. Jemisin so I put The Fifth Season on my “wishlist” and really hope to pick it up this year. I don’t read a lot of Fantasy, but what I have read I’ve loved. Not sure why I don’t read more of it. Still impatiently waiting for Patrick Rothfuss to publish that 3rd book... Your channel is new to me and I’m glad I stumbled upon it!

Out sounds fascinating! Will have to get my hands on that one. The Fifth Season BLEW ME AWAY! So glad you got it. I referred to the map many, many times!!! :) YAY FOR LONESOME DOVE! ;) Just finished Fingersmith for my book group last month. Such a great stack of books.

Out is on my TBR. I'm reading The Fifth Season in February for Blackathon. If you haven't solidified your Feb. TBR and would like to buddy read it let me know.

What a lovely haul! Going to add some of these to my tbr 😊
Not only have I eaten a Whitstable oyster, I’ve eaten (6) in Whitstable! Affinity & Velvet I’ve yet to read but Fingersmith is absolutely explosive - don’t let anyone spoil it. A Single Man is a gorgeous read - I loved the film too but it has a different focus.

I have Cloudstreet on my shelf. If you don’t get to it until later in the year, maybe we can do a buddy read of it? (Drowning in BT Prize books right now.)

I hope you like Tipping the Velvet and A Single Man as much as I did. I’m currently listening to American Dirt on audio. I know of the controversy, but I’m still giving it a chance.
I’d also recommend
Long Bright River
The Other Half of Augusta Hope

A Single Man is sooo good! Have you seen the film? Also excellent but, of course, I'd recommend reading the novel first. I've still not read Out - must get to it at some point! I've not read Cloudstreet but if you enjoy it please get his novel Breath too because that's a big fav of mine. I love the sound of Anne Boyd Rioux's book and what a sweet gift!
I love a map in a book too and I think The Fifth Season has the best opening sentence out of all of these.

Unpopular opinion here but I thought the Broken Earth books were kind of bad! The first one I initially enjoyed but once it reveals its tricks there's not much to it unfortunately. And the other two get worse as they go along. By the end it's just a mess! Some really bad prose too. But everyone else seems to really like them so I guess it's just me. Would be interestimed to hear your thoughts on the first one!

Sorry, but I had to stop watching at about 3 minutes or so, as your camera kept bobbling, and I'm super prone to motion sickness. The content looked interesting though!
