This shorts video I'll cover the basics of how to frame a wall in your basement. I’ll show you how to use a self leveling laser to mark out your wall locations. Then I’ll explain how to cut your top and bottom plates (sole plates). I’ll discuss how to estimate home many studs you need and how to cut your studs to the correct length. Then I’ll mark out the stud locations on the top and bottom plate and nail it all together with my framing nailer.

I’ll be using tapcon screws instead of a ramset. So, I’ll show you how to use tapcon screws to secure your bottom plate and how to secure your top plate with a framing nailer and 16D galvanized nails.

Don’t forget to subscribe so you don't miss the rest of my videos in my “Finishing a Basement” series.

If you get some rare seepage in a very heavy storm, ok to use some 1/4 blocking on bottom plate so the moisture won't build up? 100 year old house
