I used 2x2's (also anchored into mortar joint...block basement), with insulation between studs, and got to keep more square footage!

Get a Ramset for the floor makes it so much faster

Where is the thermal break on the floor ?

Moisture if present will wick up through bottom plate onto studs. Pressure treated plate will not be affected but your studs will.

At what height did you frame the walls in the basement so that you were able to stand them up in place? For instance if you built your wall to the exact measurement of the floor Tom wiping you would be unable to stand the wall up after assembled on the floor. So what amount did you deduct? Half inch?

I prefer to use duct tape instead of nails. Be sure to rhino line the floor to seal it so the evil spirits can’t get in and always get your lumber from trees.

Make sure after you framed the wall to check for square and then install it.

Don't cut your door plate until after you have drywalled

Don't ever nail the frame together with your hand on the wood when you nail the top nail always hold the wood in place nail the bottom first then move your hand then they'll the top otherwise you can skip a nail through the top into your hand

Could have just used cheap 50x50 batton timber

Im no expert, but it seems like u could have chicken wire and coated the wall, then used thinsulate and painted it. This gives u more space (instead of 8" less).
