The Hanna Salinity Checker is the best thing ever, but remember to calibrate once a month! I forgot, and it almost cost me, salinity was way down. Not making that mistake again! :)

Ok, @ 5:26 you say ‘a lot of new hobbyist have a problem with green hair algae’
What are new hobbyist doing wrong to get green hair algae?

And then what are you doing differently to prevent or eliminate green hair algae?

WOW! Your with BRs now! Awesome! Does anyone really do weekly water changes? is every two weeks sufficient! Who want to bring out buckets and mix salt and all that and literally make a mess of my kitchen lol. and den where my tanks are. Maybe people that have automatic water changers but I just dont see people doing that and you guys used to say every two weeks! My tank is 5 and 3 years old though but even in the beginning it was 2 weeks! Also what about the sheeet of that stuff that comes osfwalls, arent you supposed to get it out of the tank. I use a net and a turkey baster depending on where it lands!

Why wouldnt you add salt the day before? So, it can mix all night?

My only question is do I just add rodi freshwater if like 1-2” of water has evaporated over the course of 2 weeks or so ? And not just add saltwater back in ? No Coral here just fish

I also heard there are some people that don't siphon their sanded and leave if for sand sifting critters. When do you want to siphon the sand vs. when don't you?

When was last time that tank was serviced? With algae on glass?

for testing, I know you want to test before your water change, but how soon after your water change should you test again to see if the levels have been corrected?
