EDIT: Also I'm American so, for any other American viewers, visibility will usually be spoken as 1-0 for 10 miles, or the number correlating to the mile mark. 0-0 will usually be but not limited to 'no visibly'. Normally in that case, you wouldn't be cleared anyways, unless ATC has confidence in their radar and your abilities.

Thank you for a very detailed and comprehensive video on Metar decode. I am getting ready to prepare for my FAA knowledge exam. Is it necessary to memorize every single code? For practice, I have been reading the METARs for my local airports and many of these codes never show up in the METAR. Im just wondering if it's necessary to memorize all the codes for the exam or do they let you use a table to decode metars during the exam?
