Meteorites are rocks from space that have landed on Earth's surface. Meteorites can come from asteroids, the Moon or even Mars! We can tell if a rock is a meteorite by running a variety of tests that check their density, what the rock is made out of, if it melted entering Earth's atmosphere and more.

The Adler Planetarium is the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere! Located on Chicago’s lakeshore, the museum typically hosts more than half a million visitors each year and reaches millions more through youth STEAM programs, neighborhood skywatching events, people-powered research, and other outreach efforts. Today, the Adler is bringing our unique approach—scientific exploration rooted in community and connection—to guests from around the world who can enjoy the digital Adler from their own homes, libraries, schools or offices.

Is it true that we have to use the lunar rocks from the Apollo mission in order to identify wether it’s from the moon or not? Or how do you identify if a rock is lunar or Martian or just a rock from space.
