Patriotism vs nationalism: Do you know the difference?

Despite being different concepts, #patriotism and #nationalism have increasingly been used synonymously. But blurring the lines between good and bad loyalty for ones country can lead to #radicalisation.

Propaganda to say the least. I'm a patriot and a nationalist. I'm also a centerist. I applaud the people of Poland for everything they did in the protest. To be honest we need more nationalism. Or at least patriotism, as our country should be first to be helped when in need not another if ours is struggling. I more than likely border on xenophobic. But in this day and age it's hard to imagine anyone who cares for their country to not be.

I disregard this viewpoint completely. Both Nationalism and Patriotism are pretty much the same thing. If you'd go by dictionary obvisuly even synonyms have something to differ from each other the problem is not a language one here. This entire Nationalism vs Anti- Nationalism debate is political and every party/side has it's own definition of the terms which they manipulate easily for their own benefits.
I belong to India and here I am seeing how leftists liberal communists parties are using this debate that nationalists are not only rightwingers. Though it's clear that leftists and liberal communists are never fond of nationalism and pro - government/state/ democratic establishment, they want a totalirian government which controls everything. However in India they blame the current government to be the same and argue the nationalism of rightwingers by twisting the debate of Patriotism as per their convenience.
P.S. I know i haven't elaborated very well maybe because my writing skills aren't that good. I have lot to say in this regard but time falls short for me.

BS, that may be a definition of nationalism, but there are many different ones, the video just so happened to chose an extreme meaning of the word. Let's look at some other definitions of nationalism:

devotion and loyalty to one's own country.

the desire for national advancement or political independence.

the policy or doctrine of asserting the interests of one's own nation viewed as separate from the interests of other nations or the common interests of all nations.

Nationalism is a political, social, and economic system characterized by promoting the interests of a particular nation, particularly with the aim of gaining and maintaining self-governance, or full sovereignty, over the group's homeland.

But I guess those dont suit the narrative of evil nationalism. The rest of the video isnt even worth commenting...

This is one of the most dishonest things I've ever watched. Nationalism is not inherently bad. It is the belief that a country is superior to others, and is this not sometimes true? You cannot look at Japan and Zimbabwe and say they are equally great, nor can you look at America and Russia and say they are equally free. Different nations have different qualities; there is no denying this. And while greatness is subjective, it's delusional to say America and Russia, America and North Korea, America and Germany, are equal in every aspect. America has an ever growing culture while Germany is still having an existential crisis. Germany is barely a state at this point, with the slush of different beliefs and people fighting for control. It's mayhem.
Nationalism can be abused, like it was in Nazi Germany or Italy. This is not all nationalism, it is but a sect. We call it national socialism and fascism respectively. As for Poland, the protesters with fascist leanings were a massive minority, around a couple hundred, compared to the thousands of civic nationalists marching hatelessly. I'm sorry, but this video is bullshit.
You ought to remake it with at least a SHRED of nuance. Maybe give the countless different types of nationalism instead of painting it all with one broad stroke. You've got civic nationalism, racial nationalism, national socialism, fascism, national conservatism, populist nationalism, etc. etc. ad nauseam.
