Ukraine president says no need to ‘panic’ amid fears of Russian invasion

“We don't need to panic” - the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy today, as he appeared to downplay suggestions of an imminent Russian invasion.

His comments came as his Russian counterpart Vladmir Putin warned that the West has ignored Russia's security demands, in particular that Ukraine should never become a member of Nato.

We spoke to President Zelenskiy in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian vs Russia issue isn’t that simple, there are ethnic Russians who feel discriminated against and marginalised! No one is talking about their rights?

When this whole issue started with the ousting of an eastern Ukrainian president (who is now in exile in Russia) did anyone think about his supporters and his voters? He did win an election democratically!

Can't understand the logic. Why imposing sanctions now would deter Russia aggression? Why would Russia back off when you start hurting them before they actually invade? Nationalism is strong in Russia.
