Nice!! I think i have enough scrap 2x4 and pallet slats for this. Instead of 4" screws i may see if I can toenail a 3" or if i have 2 1/2" deck screws from the inside.

We are starting to potty train our son and he needs a stool to climb onto the throne. Just got the seat adapter today so this will be my next woodworking project.

If i were to make this for adult usage I would use 2x6 or 2x8s and id cut a square piece of 4"x4" plywood for gussets to attach the 2 pieces inside and possibly a brace on bottom to make it more ridgid. With larger width dimensional lumber offers minimal lateral movement so id probably go with a different method but since I made it for my son its pretty solid.

Hey just got done making mine. Did a few things diff. I was a little pressed for time and honestly forgot to cutout the notched for the legs. My jigsaw is broke so I said screw it. Also made mine 14" wide just because. Checkout my finished results video clip to see it.

This is not how to make furniture. There is no structural stability. Super glue and pin nails are the only thing holding this together. Superglue is a temporary bond at best on surfaces like wood. It would still be an eye sore if it you used real wood glue, but at least it would be less likely to kill you. As that thing is built, I could pull it apart with my hands and that is definitely not something you would want to be climbing on.

That 2nd step is dangerous, there is no lateral support. You've built an ankle buster or maybe even worse. 😢😢😢
