I know some versions portray this as a punishment, but as a survivor of multiple SA's, I like to think that Athena gave Medusa this ability as a protection from others. 😃

This is the version of the story I like to see the most, and to use for my own writing prompts. Women/goddesses protecting women and giving women the power to protect themselves and other women is the best.

That was gorgeous!! Poor Medusa! The only thing Athena could do was to protect medusa as she gave her the snake hair.

At one point I felt that the woman who was crying is different characters seemed to be a creator who must have collabed with Hollynn, but later I came know its hollynn only like with realistic makeup

I know that there's different versions of this story, but the one I'm most familiar with is that Athena finds out what happens and tells Medusa that if any man touches her without her consent ever again then he shall be turned to stone.

Wow this is amazing! In French class we’ve been learning about fairytales and stories abt Greek/Roman gods/goddesses/mythology and she did mention this as a punishment…but I think of it as a good thing for her to be protected!

I love how Hollynn makes Medusa's movements very snake like at the end, how she's kinda moving with her chest to give the illusion of Medusa slithering. ✨💕 (or at least that was my interpretation 😂)

For the people who don't know - Medusa was sexually assaulted by Poseidon in Athena's temple, but she was the one who faced the consequences of his crimes (bc she was human and he was a god, so Athena couldn't really punish Poseidon properly). Athena cursed her for eternity, giving her snakes for hair and eyes that turned people to stone.

Alright, I love this, I read a version of Medusa's origin and it went along the lines of Medusa (pre-snakey) and Athena fell in love, one day while Athena was hunting Poseidon SA Medusa, when Athena returned home from hunting she saw Medusa and Medusa asked for the power to protect herself from anyone and anything that would ever try to harm her. Athena granted her request and thus Medusa became Medusa.

This is the story of Medusa, at least, the story I know:

Poseidon found Medusa and found her very beautiful. They fell in love and Poseidon took them to Athena’s temple to, Yk. They were caught by Athena. Knowing she couldn’t do anything to Poseidon, Athena decided to punish Medusa by turning her so ugly she could turn people to stone. Eventually she was killed by Perseus
