I almost did the upgrade forever through T-Mobile. It was gonna take a while for my phone to ship so during that time I looked around and Best Buy had a great deal. They I had a T-Mobile iPhone 13 pro on sale for 899 + a trade in (I traded my iPhone 12 Pro for $700). Ended up getting the 13 pro for $253.99 which I thought was great 👍🏾 I typically upgrade on a yearly basis

As an apple fan boy I prefer my apple device, all though they are not innovative in body design compare to samsung and their android UI, I still prefer my iphone, the recent offers I get from my network provider, is cool for me, I get the new devices with full spec on financed payment, nothing can make me change to any other phone, l believe in few years time apple will develop screen design to be or even better that most android smart phones .

I went with the deal with T-Mobile and backed out 2 days later and got a refund. It just doesn’t make sense for a semi-similar iPhone.
FYI, the pro-max with a otterbox case is massive, like carrying an iPad in your jeans.

Many people are not aware of these tricks played by carriers. You did a very good job in explaining this! Best option is always to purchase unlocked and create a family plan with MVNOs. Now MVNOs are offered great family plans and these cost difference you mentioned will be negated for family plans too imo. And individual buyer don't need to think even going with a carrier.
And yes there is one more factor not explained in this video. When you are with MVNO you can upgrade your phone anytime you want in case you don't like it or having some issues. But with carriers you will need to pay off if you wanna change phone and end of loosing trade in credits

T-mobile does not require the back glass to be in good condition, simply the back camera. Back can be cracked and they do not care.

Great detailed analysis, but shouldn’t the benefits of the magenta max plan be taken into consideration too? You get the best possible service and Netflix for free is a nice bonus. Also with their auto pay discount, you can save $5 per line per month which definitely adds up.

I work at T-Mobile and this is pretty accurate. My only add on is magenta max give you no cap on data as well, being the only plans with that. Also customers who active 3 lines, get one free for life.

So you are eligible for the upgrade every 24 months but your credits are over 30 months, so if you upgrade after two years you’ll miss out on 6 months of credits, so really you’re only getting $640 instead of $800…

I considered this program. I tried and tried to find a way to make it work for me. I have an iPhone X that I paid $100 for. It works fine but the battery life getting into the low 80s. I have a phone plan that is $15 per month. I could have traded in my phone for a iphone 13 that was "free", but I would need the $85 per month magenta plan. In the end it was not worth it to sell my soul for a plan based on a crayon color. I'll just keep using my iphone X and enjoy my $15 a month plan. I might not be hip, but I saved quite a bit of money.

Side note, if you have a newer iPhone buy an iPhone X off Amazon or eBay and trade it in instead for $800 credit. Then sell your newer phone separately for cash.

The fine print under the sign up page says "up to $800" there is nothing i can find that says that you are guaranteed to get $800. Where are you getting your information?
