Cars 3 Review

Last weekend saw Cars 3 at the World Premiere, and am ready to tell you my thoughts on it, enjoy!

I almost consider Cars 2 a spinoff movie, Mater's Tall Tales: The Movie, if you will.

1. It features Mater as the hero, for starters.

2. Mater's Tall Tales has things like Matador Mater, Fireman Mater, Astronaut Mater, and Mater who is friends with an alien, lots of strange things that have nothing to do with the original Cars. I don't think they ever did Secret Agent Mater.... until Cars 2.)

3.The movie ends with Mater telling his story, and someone not believing him, until undeniable proof shows up. That is also how every single Mater's Tall Tales short ended.

Cars 2 couldn't really win. If they did the same story as Cars, people would complain that it's just the same racing story twice. You couldn't use the Cars 3 plot because it would be weird if only two movies in, Lightning is going to retire. (Unless Cars 2 came out now)

Totally feel you about the characters having charm. They're all so distinct in personality and you could easily describe what they're all like just by looking at them. I love their designs and they're all so exaggerated in personality!! I love it.

I really enjoyed Cars 3 because I watched it with my dad and whenever Cruise made a joke about Lightning's age I would turn to him and say "That's you, " and some moments actually made me fairly emotional; Lightning crashing in the beginning and Cruise's reaction to his "If you were a racer you'd understand."

Cars was the first movie I ever saw in theater, and in later years it was one of my homework movies​ (for some reason I had to have something I'm familiar with but won't get me too engaged while doing homework). So I definitely will be seeing Cars 3 in theater within the next few days.

Even though the Delinquent Road Hazards were responsible for Lightning McQueen’s separation from Mac and him getting stranded in Radiator Springs in the first Cars movie, he is actually grateful towards them for doing so because it is what helped him learn that there is a lot more in life than just winning and racing, as when Sheriff in Tokyo Mater chases the Delinquent Road Hazards race through Radiator Springs above the speed limit to arrest them, Lightning tells Sheriff to go easy on the Delinquent Road Hazards before Mater begins his story behind him once being a street racer like the Delinquent Road Hazards were.

For me, I grew up watching cars. I know to most people the movie will always be just that- a movie about cars. But the movie to me is my favorite movie of all time. I learned to love the atmosphere around the movie and the ideas behind it of loving to race. McQueen learned to leave behind the fame and money that would come out of winning and instead learned to love racing for what it is. He was able to do that and go on with his career with the town he learned to love and the people within-especially Doc Hudson. For the people who love the movie as much as I do, cars three is the sequel that we've always wanted. The feeling is so authentic it brings tears to my eyes. The movie is about McQueen realizing that his career is ending very soon and he fights himself mentally because he realizes he's shifting out of a beloved time in his life and career. He no longer has doc Hudson or the highest point of his career anymore. So instead of feeling butt hurt, he learns that doc kept going through his career by doing something he loved, which is teaching a rookie with the number 95. McQueen learns to do the same and give a new rookie the chance to have the amazing experience he has. It's the best and smoothest transition I've ever seen in an animated transition to the next movie. This movie brought so many years for me because it honored and respected the movie the way cars 2 should have. Bringing back old scenes and characters were the tear jerker moments and I can not love a movie any more than right now. So thanks to the directors of this movie for honoring what cars is. ALSO the scene with smokey and McQueen talking about how Doc Hudson loved teaching McQueen literally made me cry in the theater. Such a tear jerker I just couldn't...
