Nutrients classification:
Based on the need for the nutrients, plant nutrients can be classified as
Macronutrients (compare with rice, chapati)
Micronutrients and (compare with sweets)
Beneficial nutrients. (Compare with ghee)

Plants need macronutrients in a larger amount. Examples are NPK Ca Mg S.
Plants like to eat micronutrients in a small amount. Ex. For micronutrients are Zn, Cu, Mn, Bo
Beneficial elements are needed for plants to produce better quality fruits and flowers.

There are two ways to supply these nutrients to plants, one is by applying chemical fertilizers and the other is by organic fertilizers.

Supplying nutrients through chemical fertilizers is easy but provides only a few nutrients for the plants and chemical fertilizers are behaving like incomplete food for plants. Chemical fertilizers can be compared with protein powders or protein tablets which supply only proteins for us but for better health and survival we want all the nutrients which are essential for our growth like proteins, carbohydrates, liquids. We want all these nutrients and we will get these nutrients by eating complete food like vegetables, pulses, milk, and meat. so chemical fertilizers or not complete food that provides all nutrients to plants. So instead of chemical fertilizers, another way to give nutrients to plants is organic manure or organic fertilizers. These organic fertilizers act like complete food for the plant; they contain all the essential nutrients which are needed for plant growth and development.

And another drawback of chemical fertilizers is applying excess amounts, it may harm your plants like a protein shake or some nutrient tablet harm humans, if you take them in the excess amount it may affect your health in the same way these chemical fertilizers will harm your plants. The solution for this is to go for organic manures or organic fertilizers. In organic fertilizers even if you apply for your plants in the excess amount it won't harm your plants like if you eat vegetables and fruits even in the excess amount it won't hurt your health and the same for plants also. Therefore organic compost is the best, The Plants will observe how much they want from the media and the excess will be in the container and the plant will utilize it later.

To give the best way to supply almost all the nutrients which are required for your plants to complete their life cycle is to apply organic compost and vermicompost.

I hope you understood How chemical fertilizers affect Plants health and growth.

In our next episode, we will discuss the balance of soil Air and soil water.
