My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We see over 2,000 pieces of small engine equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. We specialize in brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Echo and Shindaiwa, but work everyday on MANY other brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Craftsman, Remington, Red Max, Troy Bilt, Scag, Bad Boy, Hustler, World Lawn, Poulan, Mantis, Etc.. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!

Have NEVER subscribed to any mechanical channel - 70 yrs experience from tiny 2 strokes to 12 cyl Jag, built engines & gearboxes.. 'Intellectual' snob re language, articulation. tested high IQ, cold war labs, have produced dozens commercial videos. YOU ARE THE BEST TUTORIAL VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN OR HEARD - crisp, complete, thorough, clear, no crap music -- yes I've subscribed!

I've got to the point i just buy new carbs anymore. Trying to find a place where i live to buy or look up parts is impossible. The last carb I rebuilt cost me $103 for rebuild kit & it took 3 weeks to get parts in. I just replaced the carb on my rider yesterday. I ordered new carb with gaskets, spark plugs, fuel filter & air cleaner for $43. I ordered on Amazon & had delivered in 2 days. I do appreciate your vids you are true professional showing & explaining repairs. Ive watched several of your vids when trouble shooting engines ive been working on.

That is the most detailed, easiest to understand carburetor rebuild I have ever had the good fortune to come across. The sound was good with no background music, and your diction perfect to understand. Thank you.

It was a pleasure to watch you work. As a very seasoned mechanic (read that as old), it was obvious to me that you have a good grasp of what you are doing and how to use tools. I have a John Deere mower that has the same carb and it is running rich. I bought a new carb for it and needed to figure out how to replace the carb with a minimum of cursing! Your video was excellent in giving me the instruction that I needed and I'm going to give it a go tomorrow morning. Thank you!

Came across this video-what a life saver, I have the same engine set up and wasn't sure how to get the carb out to clean it. Thank you so much for the clear and easy instructions. 🙌

I have a similar carb setup on my Craftsman 21.5 Intek. This video helped me immensely with removing the carb and manifold. I found that one of the manifold gaskets was trashed, which caused my backfiring/surging and lean condition. New gaskets for $7.xx and it runs like new. Thanks for making this video!!!

Thanks for taking the time to show which way gaskets go and how things fit together slowly. A lot of mechanics show how fast they are and asome we can put gaskets back right. I watch all your videos even though I don't work on many engines. Thanks Again!! Ernie

Thank you so much. I have an old craftsman lawn tractor with a 23hp brigs engine. It has a 2bbl Nikki carb. Now, with your instructions, I can repair it. Great video.

When you said @11:43 " I have a left right here", I was hoping to hear "and I have a right left here". I'm a fan of ambiguous directions, it triggers my inner Bugs Bunny.

My Uncle that worked as a car and truck mechanic for 40 years or so, taught me a cool trick, how to magnetize my screwdrivers. He would get a length of copper wire (insulated is fine with bare ends) and wrap it around the shank of the screwdriver (several times is okay) although the more the merrier. Wearing gloves and eye shields (he did not) touch one end to the post on a car battery then quickly touch the other end of the wire to the other post (like lighting a match, several strikes were sufficient). Sparks would fly, but a small amount of magnetic energy would stay with the screwdriver. This would allow one to load the screw onto the driver while pointing it sideways or downward and it would stay with the driver while you aim the screw at the threaded hole. Happy threading!!
